  • The Terrapin Flyer, my boat
    Hey Guys, I thought you might get a kick out of my boat, the Terrapin Flyer. As a boat captain and an old deadhead, Ive spent many a day at sea literally driftin and dreamin. One dream of mine was that if I ever got my own fleet of boats, I would name each one all out of Terrapin Station: Sunrise, The Sailor, The Soldier, Lady with a Fan, Refrain, and the flagship, of course, the Terrapin Flyer... It just seemed too perfect. Well, I'll never own a fleet of boats, but I did buy a boat I ran for a few years unfortunately named the "Done Cuttin". I never renamed the boat due to superstition, but this spring I started thinking why hold back from your dream? Thus, the Terrapin Flyer. We renamed and lettered the boat ala Radio Flyer and took her out to sea to do the proper incantations to Poseidon with an offering of champaign. Almost immediately after the renaming ceremony, a school of dolphins came to the boat and played in its wake as if to grant approval. It was really prophetic! All I need now is a small terrapin in front of the compass....

    I guess I couldve explained the Marlin. It represents my tattoo, my commitment to billfish conservation, and to the ocean itself.

    should be
    a turtle there, not a sailfish or marlin. do understand the nautical theme though. saw a stealie spinnaker in the carib. one time. blew me away.

    the place to put the terrapin is over the N on the compass rose... Think maybe you can get Ritchie to take a custom order?
