This year's submissions period has ended. Check out all the great performance with the Official 2016 DEAD COVERS PROJECT playlist.
Whether you play just like Jerry or like to give the Grateful Dead's beloved classics a unique spin, the 2016 Dead Covers Project wants you! We're calling all musicians - near and far - to share your love for the music and magic of the Dead through video. Show off your musical chops and you just might find yourself front and center on Dead.net during the month of February! The rules are simple - all video submissions must contain a song either written by or recorded by the Dead. How that song is interpreted, however, is entirely up to you.
Upload your video to YouTube, tag it "DeadCoversProject," and we'll make it available to view on the band's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/gratefuldead. Can't carry a tune? Join the fun by "liking" your favorites on YouTube.

Bear's Choice, a Grateful Dead tribute band in the NYC area performs Black-Throated Wind for the #DeadCoversProject 2016. This is just a fragment of the ending when we got stage-jacked by "the hat guy."

Good Lovin' Cover
The Grateful Dead covered Chester "Rub-a-Dub" Johnson's version of Good Lovin' at the Aardvark Speedway in Toadsuck, Arkansas in 1977. This is a cover version of that legendary cover version.

Hey y'all check these guys out and give 'em a thumbs up at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFgf4muYj6g&feature=youtu.be
This is their version of Candyman that's deservedly featured on the front page of dead.net today.
They've been honing their sound for many years and kill it every week. Give 'em a listen.
They also have several more videos out on Youtube that are worth your attention.
Cheers!
Thanks for the help. I have no idea what's gone wrong. I had no problems last year. My video is up on my youtube channel and I've tagged it, I believe, appropriately. It's been pretty frustrating. I'd greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer. The tune is BrokeDown Palace and my channel is under my name, Gordon Wallace. Thanks again...
Mr. Charlie by Unlimited Devotion and Friends featuring Ms. Jill Simmons on vocals and Ms. Joni Bottari on Lead Guitar. A female "Jerry" ??? Yup....check it out !
I uploaded two videos and tagged them correctly. I don't see them on the Grateful Dead YouTube channel. In fact I don't see any of the 2014 covers. Just a playlist of the 2013 covers. How can I find this year's videos?
I love these guys, their music and their entire vibe, as well as being part of the GBB family. They are carrying on grateful traditions in more ways than just the articulate and tasty samples of their respectful renditions of Jerry and Grateful Dead material.
If you're worried about whether your video went to the right place, do the YouTube search for DeadCoversProject 2014. If it's there, all should be well. An actual person is in the process of moving them from Point A to Point B, and they will arrive on the Grateful Dead YouTube page as soon as that happens. Meanwhile you can use the embed code to post them here TOO, but the big thing is to make sure they got posted correctly, as above.
Thanks!
Thanks for the update. I don't see the two videos I uploaded last weekend yet but I'll keep looking. They are "Me and My Uncle" and "Ripple" performed by Jack Dylan Evans. I believe they are tagged correctly.
Salutations again, Grateful Dead Family~~
I've got one more upload for the DeadCoversProject--same band I play in , as the other video I posted..And once again, I created a video to the audio, using my own art.
I apologize if it doesn't translate well to hi-def, my computer is so old, it uses hieroglyphics....
