First of four featuring the complete 10/22/71.
This was the third show of the tour that introduced pianist Keith Godchaux to the fans. Ron "Pigpen" McKernan had been in failing health for a while, and the band really benefited from having a strong improvisational voice on the keyboard. (Pigpen returned to the band in December and stayed with them through the Europe '72 tour before his health issues got the better of him.)
New songs on this tour included "Jack Straw," "Tennessee Jed," "One More Saturday Night," "Mexicali Blues," "Comes a Time," and "Ramble On Rose."
Enjoy!
