    Grateful Dead Hour no. 964

    Week of March 12, 2007

The conclusion of the second set of 12/31/90, and some more great music from the American Beauty Project, a free two-day Grateful Dead tribute that took place in New York City in January of 2007. Jorma Kaukonen loved "Operator" so much that he adopted it into his repertoire, and released a splendid studio recording of the song on his 2009 CD River of Time.

    Another Great New Year's Eve
I love this show. Nothing like the New Year's Eve shows for the amped up energy level. This was poignant because it was the first New Year's Eve show after Brent passed. Canyon Critter I would sure be interested in hearing more about how you and your high school chums all managed to come up with the cash for the money orders required for the tickets in those days. Quite a feat there mate! (Or do you perhaps have this confused with another run? Schools are closed over Christmas break and aren't holding practices for baseball on the days between Christmas and New Year's Eve.)

    As Far As Setlist
Top Notch stuff brother. The Other One was very different, I remember becuase I was at this show, not bad for my second Other One. Our school baseball team told us to take the 3 days off, no practice, because they knew if they hadn't no one would show up anyway! LOL. I think I went to Campolindo H.S. at the time, thank God for Good Coaches! ____________________________________________Will you come with me? Never heard Grateful Dead do The Weight, or the crazy multiple vocals on The Other One. Always dig Jorma and haven't heard too much of his later stuff. Plus I love Operator too! Thanks.
