Prett good pick host . In the New RT CD page , i shared that i - and many - think that for 1984 a show like Oct 12 Augusta ME -or something similar in quality and power- is very worthy of being released - i hope - sometime . Thanks for your great selections D Gans J

I was in attendance for this awesome show (I love Merriweather Post). I also LOVE that DSO was included in the first part. I wasn't about the idea of DSO either when I first heard about them but I was very fortunate to have been in the audience for a Dead cover band back in the mid to late 70's called Ripple Creek (or something like that... they played MD. U. frequently, back in "The Day", as it were) and they were a ton of fun so when a fiend suggested I attend a DSO show at the Funk Box, in Baltimore of 2003, I went and can attest to how incredibly psychedelic this band is. I went to see them a few more times and then in 2004, went to a Grateful Fest (where I also met dgans) and had one of the greatest times of my life, as well my wife and our oldest son and his girlfriend. The camp had a power outage during the first set on Friday night (the first night) but the band pooled their resources and powered an efficient version of their full setup with the RV's power supply and they ROCKED OUT! One of the best versions of "Gloria" I've ever heard! I'll remember that weekend for the rest of my life... right up there with my six Bonnaroo festivals, for sure! I've seen them a ton of times now and am looking forward to seeing them again, of course. Thanks again dgans... Yes, I remember that GratefulFest... i was there that year..remember the power outage....and them pulling power from their bus...playing an acoustic set.. the crowd had to be really quiet to hear them play...wasn't as loud w/o full power... i think that this was the same year that Keller Williams played to some awesome fireworks..he had his back turned towards the crowd..watching the fireworks over the lake... and members of Dirty Dozen Brass Band coming out the next night playing w/ DSO a Hey Pocky Way....that was funky as could be!!! And the White Rabbit that walks casually thru the crowd...damn, is that acid good or what? LOL (I thought when i watched the Rabbit walk thru the crowd) Good times at the Ledges...i haven't been there since 2004... I actually was on the way there in 05 and got busted on the way in there for a July 4th Throwdown w/ Little Feat...needless to say, didn't make it that weekend..was in Portage County Jail for 10 days, being in jail on 4th of July sucked!!! So to all those who venture to the Ledges, please be careful...the law enforcement around the place suck.. the cop that arrested me told me that between him and another officer, they make 200 arrests a year for people coming and going to the Ledges... So be careful, do not speed!!! That was a Garrettsville City Police Officer!! But very magical times to be had there...once you get in the gate, you are safe!!! watch out for the Ghetto though...i love camping in the family section, w/ the kids!!! Good times to be had there, thats for sure!
