Grateful Dead

Greetings to all. This site, its very ecclectic and fascinating band, and the Gratful Dead universe are new to me. I am that stranger who has heard of this land, yet never seen it. This is amazing. I bought a GD cd on a hunch one day and was shocked at how different their styles were from what I expected and the usual overproduced, record company money maker. Then I found out that the studio CD I bought entitled "American Beauty" was made in 1970, but was not even a fraction of what GD has released. I found in this new journey into an unknown but often mentioned band that they were "about the music," unlike so many of their peers that found stardom and sold out. This journey is just beginning for me. I know practically nothing about the GD experience, but the more I read, look and listen, the more captivated I am. To my fellow travellers, wish me luck and guidance on this journey.

Thanks David + crew; Found the unedited April Fool's Day Show in superb sound quality in 1995. It's very nice, and a hdcd road trips edition would be even nicer ;-) Listening to the fragile and intense He's Gone vocals, and waiting for Jerry's little McCartney nugget That Would Be Something. Wow, in a few minutes I'll hear if the Nassau Show is up there on my high list too.Beautiful and creepy Nassau Space!
