Welcome back to the Tapers’s Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1972, 1973, and 1980
Our first stop is in Houston on 11/19/72 toward the tail end of the Dead’s magnificent touring year of 1972, where we have Bertha ; Me And My Uncle ; Sugaree; Beat It On Down The Line; Bird Song ; Black Throated Wind; Don't Ease Me In; Mexicali Blues ; Box Of Rain.
From a year later, also in Texas, on 11/23/73 in El Paso, we have Straw ; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; El Paso ; Tennessee Jed.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 11/26/80 in Pembroke Pines, opening night of a four show tour of Florida and Georgia, the first shows after the three-set runs in September and October 1980, with this great sequence of Cold Rain And Snow; Samson And Delilah; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider> Estimated Prophet>Eyes Of The World.
