    4-22-77 vs. 4-23-77

This one being the first show of the tour it was bound to have some sound issues and it does. Got it cranked to 89/100 on the computer and I still can't hear it. Overall, the next night's partial, featured in last week's Jam was a MUCH stronger performance. I guess I'll do the trifecta and do this week's Jam, 4-29-77 and see where they go from here.
    Cheers
Edit: Dave fixed the volume. 4-29-77 is loud at 33/100 and a nice (post drums?) selection.

Week of January 16-22, 2023

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1977, 1984, and 1989.

Our first stop is first set music from opening night of what is widely considered to be one of the Grateful Dead’s greatest, most consistently excellent tours in their history, the Spring Tour of 1977. From 4/22/77 in Philadelphia, we have Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo; Looks Like Rain; Deal ; El Paso ; Tennessee Jed; Estimated Prophet; Peggy-O.

Next is the unique second set opener from 4/27/84 in Providince, featuring the rare double-Jerry-ballad sequence sandwiched between two Bob Weir rockers: Playing In The Band> China Doll> Space> High Time > Man Smart (Woman Smarter).

Lastly this week is the entire first set from 4/30/89 at Irvine Meadows in southern California: Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo > Wang Dang Doodle ; Stagger Lee ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Tennessee Jed ; We Can Run ; Picasso Moon > Deal.

Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
