Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we close out June and roll into July with Grateful Dead music from 1976 and a double dose of 1981.
Our first stop this week is the penultimate show of the Fall Tour of 1976, with first set music plus the first song of the second set, from 10/2/76 in Cincinnati, featuring New Minglewood Blues ; Row Jimmy ; El Paso ; Tennessee Jed ; It's All Over Now ; Brown Eyed Women ; Let It Grow > Might As Well, Music Never Stopped.
From 9/27/81 in Landover, MD, the last show of a three-show tour of the east coast just before the Dead split for Europe, we have the start of the second set featuring China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider; Man Smart (Woman Smarter); He's Gone> Truckin'> Drums.
Lastly this week, from the aforementioned Europe ’81 tour, we have the start of the second set from the tour-opener on 9/30/81 in Edinburgh, Scotland, where we have Feel Like A Stranger ; Ship Of Fools ; Samson And Delilah ; Never Trust A Woman.
