Week of March 11-17, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from 1969, 1972, and 1989 from various venues around California.
Our first stop this week is on the opening night of a three night run on 12/19/69 at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, the Dead’s final run of shows at this venue, where we have Good Lovin'> Drums> Good Lovin', Cryptical Envelopment > Drums> The Other One > Cryptical Envelopment> Uncle John's Band> Turn On Your Love Light.
Next up is music from three years later in San Francisco, on 12/11/72 at Winterland, where we have this terrific sequence of Dark Star > Stella Blue ; Big River; Deal ; Tomorrow Is Forever; Sugar Magnolia, encore: Casey Jones.
Lastly this week is the last music the Dead ever played at the Forum in Inglewood, CA, on 12/10/89 at their 7th and final show there: Space > The Wheel > I Need A Miracle > Stella Blue > Good Lovin' , Baby Blue.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
