Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1984, 1988, and 1992.
Our first stop this week is the start of the second set from 6/14/84 at Red Rocks, where we have this excellent sequence that features the Dead’s first performance of Traffic’s Dear Mr. Fantasy: Shakedown Street, Playing In The Band>Dear Mr. Fantasy.
Next is first set music from the tour-opening show on 6/17/88 in Bloomington, MN, where we have New Minglewood Blues ; Row Jimmy ; Far From Me ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Althea ; Victim Or The Crime, including the Dead’s first performance of Victim Or The Crime, a song that Bob had been playing for the past half decade in his solo career.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 6/12/92 at the Knickerbocker Arena in Albany, NY, where we have Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain ; Way To Go Home ; Truckin' > Smokestack Lightning.
