Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some Grateful Dead music from 1982, 1987, and 1989.
Our first stop this week is on 8/8/82 at Alpine Valley Music Theatre, where we have the end if the show featuring Drums> Space> The Other One> Not Fade Away > Wharf Rat > Good Lovin', Satisfaction, Brokedown Palace, with a couple of guest appearances, by Zakir Hussein and John Cipollina.
Next is the first set of opening night of the Dead’s final run of shows at Red Rocks, on 8/11/87, featuring Cold Rain And Snow; Little Red Rooster; Tons Of Steel; High Time; When I Paint My Masterpiece; When Push Comes To Shove, Let It Grow.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 8/6/89 at Cal Expo, where we have Scarlet Begonias> Fire On The Mountain ; Samson And Delilah, Ship Of Fools; Man Smart (Woman Smarter).
