Week of November 11-17, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1973, 1976, and 1988, from the East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast.
Our first selection this week is from Jerry’s birthday show on 8/1/73 at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, NJ, where we have this spectacular, mostly Jerry-centric sequence of Dark Star > El Paso> Eyes Of The World> Morning Dew.
Next is music from the final show of the Dead’s June 1976 comeback tour, which ran from 6/3/76 in Portland, OR, to this show on 6/29/76 in Chicago. From this fine show at the Auditorium Theatre we have Saint Stephen> Not Fade Away > Saint Stephen, One More Saturday Night, US Blues.
Lastly this week is the entire first set from 7/30/88 at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA, where we have Let The Good Times Roll ; Feel Like A Stranger ; Loser ; New Minglewood Blues ; Row Jimmy ; Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; When Push Comes To Shove ; The Music Never Stopped, Don't Ease Me In.
Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
