2/25/90 post drums is must hear

the jam out of the wheel. phil’s bass intro to Gimme Some Lovin’. Jerry’s second solo in Gimme Some Lovin’. One of the most psychedellically mad performances of Wharf Rat ever. And great Sugar Magnolia that stops right when the band hits the blast off point… although still a fine rendition.

Knockin’ encore is as quiet and heartfully supercharged as it likely ever was. One of the great ones for that song.

    2/28/70 Family Dog

Nothing like some sweet '70 acoustic followed by a mighty fine electric slice.

And that 2/25/90 post-space kicks it! Wicked fine Wharf Rat indeed!

Week of November 20-26, 2023

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1970, 1974, and 1990 from the Bay Area.

Our first stop this week is on 2/28/70 at the Family Dog in San Francisco where we have Monkey And The Enginee; Little Sadie> Black Peter; China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider> High Time> Dire Wolf.

Next up is a great Wake Of The Flood sequence from 2/23/74 at Winterland: Weather Report Suite>Stella Blue.

Lastly this week is the end of the show from 2/25/90 in Oakland, where we have Space > The Wheel > Gimme Some Lovin' > Wharf Rat > Sugar Magnolia.

Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
