Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1973, and 1982.
Our first selection is from 2/22/69 in Vallejo, CA, just a few days before the Dead’s legendary run at the Fillmore West. From this Bay Area city, we have Doin' That Rag> St. Stephen> The Eleven > Turn On Your Love Light> Drums > Turn On Your Love Light.
Next is a classic early 1973 sequence, from 2/22/73 in Champagne-Urbana, featuring Dark Star > Eyes Of The World > China Doll. The latter two songs had debuted less than two weeks earlier, on 2/9/73 in Palo Alto.
Lastly this week is the end of the second set from 2/19/82 in Davis, CA, where we have Space > The Other One> Stella Blue > Man Smart (Woman Smarter)> Johnny B. Goode, US Blues.
