Second I would love to thank The Bus who rules the bit torrent world and provided the Jerry Garcia 1981 Project. All lossless shn/flac files on DVDs that will span all of 1981 when it is all said and done. Part 1 covers Jan - Feb. I just think it is too much.If you pick three or four top shows, it might work. Just my humble opinion, and your efforts are appreciated. "That path is for, your steps alone."

my 2 cents...

I dig the fact that it's a fatty, I'm just trying to load up on sbds, the aud's are hit or miss in terms of quality. If they were sbds I'd be on it like blue bonnet.

Well I wanted to start a vine that covered an entire year and it is rare to get a chance to do that. I could just scale it way back to only one source which is what I originally thought about doing but to me the sources all sound about the same so I had a hard time choosing. I thought I'd let you all choose what you wanted. I mean you don't HAVE to copy every show. For what it is worth most of these recordings are very good despite being mostly auds. Heck I've heard sbds that don't sound as good. No worries, it's here if anyone wants it. I would also consider scaling it way back too if that would help. for what it's worth

The AUDs from the JGB 80 vine are generally very good. In fact, they are better than many of the SBDs. To give a few examples, I graded 80-01-20.sbd.ladner.16868 as SBD B+/A-, 80-01-24.sbd.metz.4433 as SBD B+, and 80.02.26.sbd.ladner.19971 as SBD B+, but 80-02-12.aud.jones-chase.11019 and 80-02-22.fob-nakcm700.glassberg.18015 as AUD A. Yeah, not all are great (80-02-19.aud.mow-cohn.32522 is an AUD B+), but most of them are darn good (I grade a bunch as AUD A-). I imagine the same is true for '81. I used to be a SBD guy, but the more shows I listen to, the more I appreciate a good AUD.

I'm just now seeing this

I'd gladly jump on this - but unfortunately it seems like I've signed up for a lot of vines lately, I'm going out of town next week, and I really don't want to get stuck having to copy 50 discs when I get back. I'll check on this when things quiet down, if it's still around. JGB in '81 is something I'm interested in!

Out to Stu Today

Hope you enjoy this stu! So going forward I will put this big vine to rest, well at least the other parts to it. No sense wasting a bunch of dvd's. However as a couple people have suggested I'd like to try again but this time as a 'Best of 1981'. There are definitely better shows than others. I've been listening to the Jan and Feb shows and have picked out some of the better recordings. I'll post the new vine soon. If that one fails too then I think I'm done! 1. At the moment...

There doesn't seem to be a long list for this vine, so I don't expect there to be a rush in getting it out to the next person in line (who??) which will give me the time I need to copy such a huge vine. Plus, I REALLY need more JGB in my collection, and what a better way to stock up than this vine??

This looks mighty fine!

Although I'm not moving, I'm in the exact same boat as Dstache. This vine looks great, but I have to wait a little while until I can sign up, otherwise I'll get flooded with tapes!

As far as this one goes

I copied most of it, if there were multiple sources for shows, I choose the one that "sounded best" in my opinion. So if need be, I could help out with reseeding this one. Keep me posted if help is needed

We should make a new "rule"

That when a vine hits the end of the list, the vine gets sent to me. I'll at least make sure they don't get lost. This one is huge and I am not sure if I have all the sources anymore..
