I'm sure High Time will not be played at a black tie event. But I do like the idea of Promised Land and the more I think about it, Maggie's Farm would be perfect....but I'm sticking with the orginal list I had earlier (maybe because Estimated doesn't fit perfectly, after all Obama is no prophet, I'd Say Promised Land opener....and they've never done Estimated as an opener I think?) So, Promised Land>Eyes of The World>Throwing Stones>Dancin in The Streets>US Blues And boyz please shine you're light to these politicians, you've stood for so much change throughout the last 40+ years, show them what The Grateful Dead was and The Dead are really about! ____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? Well if it were a fantasy, I'd have something completely different. But I'm just trying to guess what they will actually play. Believe you me, I want to hear something to make us all happy. We'll see, maybe they can surprise us all with a live streaming video or a deadicated surprise download in our mailboxes tommorow. We started a big topic on another forum about this....it's really fun to try and guess the set list. Not Fade Away encore would be hella cool. ____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? Don't want to post anything that is not mine so go check out the site and look at the comments. Seems like, as to be expected, no one except for maybe 5 out of 4,000 knew any of the songs. http://www.ratdog.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=193319 ____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? Gradually, the ballroom filled up throughout the night to a capacity crowd of about 7,000. Haitian-born singer Wyclef Jean was a surprise addition to the musical lineup kicking off a short musical set. The Dead, former members of the Grateful Dead who reunited partly because of Obama's campaign, also performed. A jam band might have been an unusual choice for a ball, but the group had its fans, including Abby Penskey of Kensington. "I really thought about wearing my Birkenstocks under this dress," she said with a smile. Early in the evening, attendees staked out positions around the stage to get a good look of the president and first lady. The area became so crowded that a second dance floor had to be opened to give those who wanted to dance the chance. This from the Baltimore Sun...

Joe Biden invented the position of the drug czar and declared war on many of us posting on this site and whose support for the Grateful Dead and spinoffs made them significant at all. He stands for a great many things we all don't like. The only position, I know of, required by law to lie to the public. Makes me sick to see him listed on a setlist. I know we are all swept away by Obama mania, I too am excited, but this guy sitting at his side is the democrats version of evil Cheney. I hope he is completely marginalized. The inventor of the Drug Czar position was given a forum during a Dead show, makes me sick.

Have to say I think you're quite wrong about Biden, Patdro. Would be curious where you got this information. "Biden's campaign issues focused on withdrawal from Vietnam, the environment, civil rights, mass transit, more equitable taxation, health care, the public's dissatisfaction with politics-as-usual, and "change" just a brief segment from Wikipedia bout Biden's senatorial campaign in 1972. ********************************** It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine

Egads, say it ain't so! Bobby and Phil in tuxes? I could have understood if they were psychedelic but the cognitive dissonance was too much."That does not compute! That does not cumpute! Danger, danger, Will Robinson, Back to the ship!"
