you edited your post goddammmit....one too many m's..... The screen door slams Mary' dress waves Like a vision she dances across the porch As the radio plays Roy Orbison singing for the lonely Hey that's me and I want you only Don't turn me home again I just can't face myself alone again Don't run back inside Darling you know just what I'm here for So you're scared and you're thinking That maybe we ain't that young anymore Show a little faith there's magic in the night You ain't a beauty but hey you're alright Oh and that's alright with me You can hide 'neath your covers And study your pain Make crosses from your lovers Throw roses in the rain Waste your summer praying in vain For a saviour to rise from these streets Well now I'm no hero That's understood All the redemption I can offer girl Is beneath this dirty hood With a chance to make it good somehow Hey what else can we do now ? Except roll down the window And let the wind blow Back your hair Well the night's busting open These two lanes will take us anywhere We got one last chance to make it real To trade in these wings on some wheels Climb in back Heaven's waiting on down the tracks Oh-oh come take my hand We're riding out tonight to case the promised land Oh-oh Thunder Road oh Thunder Road Lying out there like a killer in the sun Hey I know it's late we can make it if we run Oh Thunder Road sit tight take hold Thunder Road Well I got this guitar And I learned how to make it talk And my car's out back If you're ready to take that long walk From your front porch to my front seat The door's open but the ride it ain't free And I know you're lonely For words that I ain't spoken But tonight we'll be free All the promises'll be broken There were ghosts in the eyes Of all the boys you sent away They haunt this dusty beach road In the skeleton frames of burned out Chevrolets They scream your name at night in the street Your graduation gown lies in rags at their feet And in the lonely cool before dawn You hear their engines roaring on But when you get to the porch they're gone On the wind so Mary climb in It's town full of losers And I'm pulling out of here to win Later kid.....high to Matt

Dont look up the band...just read the lyrics. I do not condone listening to the makers of this song... There is no hope for you and me Cause this long drive might be [The last time I take the wheel] You're not sure how you feel I think the spotlight Always gives you stage fright Wish this song would end right Wish that you would stop Makin' my head spin Over and over it's over but what if we... If we just pretend You'll play the love and baby I'll play the lead So strike a pose and fake a smile you're coming with me I'll strum my guitar 'cause girl I know how you are You're just a little bit camera shy but you're still a star This isn't right you said It takes some time you know Let's try again tonight This fight is getting old I think the spotlight Always gives you stage fright Wish this song would end right Wish that you would stop Makin' my head spin You're young but old enough to build up Falling walls and false love Wish this song would end I wish this song would end You'll play the love and baby I'll play the lead So strike a pose and fake a smile you're coming with me I'll strum my guitar 'cause girl I know how you are You're just a little bit camera shy but you're still a star We're done tonight We gotta pick it up slowly Can I hear your voice What a perfect story Can I pick you up You can be my star Now the spotlight's on, move close for the final scene You'll play the love and baby I'll play the lead So strike a pose and fake a smile you're coming with me I'll strum my guitar 'cause girl I know how you are You're just a little bit camera shy but you're still a star You're just a little bit camera shy but you're still a star You're just a little bit camera shy but you're still a star good evening to you rrrgrrr...keep on truckin'!!!!!

Every year when summer comes around They stretch a banner 'cross the main street in town You can feel somethin' happenin' in the air Well from Carol's house up on Telegraph Hill You can see the lights goin' up out in the soldiers' field Gettin' ready for the county fair County fair, county fair Everybody in town will be there So come on, hey, we're goin' down there Hey little girl with the long blond hair Come win your daddy one of them stuffed bears Baby down at the county fair Now you'll be hangin' tight when we hit the top And that rollercoaster's ready to drop And you brag, how you wasn't even scared* Well baby you know I just love the sound Of the pipe organ on the merry-go-round Baby down at the county fair** County fair, county fair Everybody in town will be there So come on, we're goin', goin' down there Hey little girl with the long blond hair Come win your daddy one of them stuffed bears Baby down at the county fair Now at the north end of the field, well they set up a stand And they got a little Rock 'N' Roll band The people dancin', yeah, out in the open air Well it's James Young and the Immortal Ones Just two guitars, baby, bass and drums Just rockin' down at the county fair Well county fair, county fair Everybody in town will be there So come on, we're goin' down there Hey little girl with the long blond hair Come win your daddy one of them stuffed bears Baby down at the county fair Now it's gettin' late before we head back to town We let the fortune wheel spin around Come on mister, tell me what's waitin' out there On my way out I steal a kiss in the dark Hope I can remember where our car's parked Baby at the county fair Now off down the highway there's the last stream of cars We sit a while in my front yard With the radio playin' soft and low I pull Carol close to my heart And I lean back and stare up at the stars Oh I wish never had to let this moment go

When Louis came home to the flat, He hung up his coat and his hat, He gazed all around But no wifey he found So he said "Where can Flossy be at" A note on the table he spied He read it just once then he cried It read 'Louis dear it's toos low for me here So I think I will go for a ride Oh Meet me in St. Louis, Louis Meet me at the fair, Don't tell me the lights are shining Any place but there We will dance the hoochie koochie I will be your tootsie wootsie If you will meet me in st. What part of the Midwest is close to Da Buff? Harry got up Dressed all in black Went down to the station And he never came back They found his clothing Scattered somewhere down the track And he won't be down on Wall Street in the morning He had a home The love of a girl But men get lost sometimes As years unfurl One day he crossed some line And he was too much in this world But I guess it doesn't matter anymore In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute Things can get pretty strange In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute Lying here in the darkness I hear the sirens wail Somebody going to emergency Somebody's going to jail If you find somebody to love in this world You better hang on tooth and nail The wolf is always at the door In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute Things can get a little strange In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute And in these days When darkness falls early And people rush home To the ones they love You better take a fool's advice And take care of your own One day they're here; Next day they're gone I pulled my coat around my shoulders And took a walk down through the park The leaves were falling around me The groaning city in the gathering dark On some solitary rock A desperate lover left his mark, "Baby, I've changed. Please come back." What the head makes cloudy The heart makes very clear The days were so much brighter In the time when she was here But I know there's somebody somewhere Make these dark clouds disappear Until that day, I have to believe I believe, I believe In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute You can get out of the rain In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute

i don't understand this evil. i wonder what this will do to the very young, growing up in fear of these kinds of acts. i recall the atom bomb drills of the cold war when i was in elementary school, but we did not really understand what it was all about. there was no 24x7 CNN and other coverages, showing all the carnage. we knew the bomb was bad but we did not fully grasp the danger i think. the young kids today get to SEE it over and over. parents, grandparents, please hug and reassure the little ones.

Been following this tour since 10/29 Albany, playing has gotten much tighter but is it me or are the set lists getting predictable and stagnant? Same songs being rotated in different order, repeating every 3 shows or so. Now I know Mayer and Oteil are new to this but, well just want to see if anyone else shares the opinion, maybe I just need a break from it.... Contrasting to Phil's recent runs at the Cap...on 11/1 he pulled out day job for the encore....whilst not a barn burner of a classic dead song it did put a smile on my face....if for no other reason, spontaneity. Come to find out that night he replayed the 11/1/85 set list song for song...reminds me of going to see DSO. Anyway to all who are yet to go, enjoy.....these are some high energy shows for sure....and being there is well worth your time....at least once.

Hi everyone, Just checking in, as I have mostly had my head down attending to the mundane for the last few months. However, I got the chance to spin my noggin a bit last week at the Broomfield and Vegas shows (despite a nagging cough). The shows were great--11/28 2nd set, in particular, was very notable. Got to see Gob and (you can call me) James in Vegas so that was a treat. Gob even brought Christmas to the show . . . literally. Hoping to go to Cali at the end of the month but we will see.

...now, more than ever, we need to celebrate the good in our country, and the Good Old Grateful Dead have sure provided a lot of that. While not minimizing what happens tragically, we do need to focus on peace, love and bringing a smile to those around us. Mona posted that today was the official name change for the Boys to the Grateful Dead, and that happened 50 years ago...so happy happy birthday guys. As I reflect on the violence that seems to happen on an unfortunate regular basis, I can't help but think as a society we can do a better job. Think globally, act locally comes to mind....and for me, that starts with my own personal thoughts and what kind of spirit I want to have, and project to those close by. We can each make this place a better place, and we each need to do that. We each need to take responsibility for our thoughts, words and deeds, and strive to make this world a better place, one smile, one song, one hug at a time. So greet a friend, look someone in the eye, and say "I care". Think good thoughts, and yes, mourn and grieve as necessary, but know that your smile, your gesture, your words are important to us all. Best wishes, good thoughts and prayers to those hurting today. May the music provide warmth, your friends provide compassion, and memories of a real good time bring a smile to your spirit. Take care one and all...you matter to us as you matter to your friends and family. Peace to you and yours. geo

Geo, your thoughts are spot on and if we all took those words to heart the world would indeed be a better place. These are troubling times for sure. Thank the Great Spirit for the Good Ole Grateful Dead...a box of rain will ease the pain and love will see you through.

Did anyone notice excessive grainy picture quality during segments of their blu-ray or dvd video discs? Most noticeable on July 4th disc 2, during the fireworks. Interested to find out either way. Trying to determine if it was produced that way or if it's a defective disc. Otherwise it's an amazing capture of a magical week in Chicago. Thanks.
