    I lived 3 miles from Governor's Hall
Used to sneak out of my parents house to go to Governor's Hall to see Timothy B Schmidt in his Sac band before Poco/Eagles, The Byrds, and Buffalo Springfield. I played in "Gonad" for the third Beaux Arts Ball in Roseville. I wish I had seen the Dead at G Hall, instead I saw them the first time when they opened for Cream at Sac Memorial Auditorium. Everyone was to stoned to play except Micky Hart - disaster. I said to my friends, "Why is that good jazz drummer playing with this shitty rock band?" Of course I liked the first album that had come out before I saw them unable to play. My teen-aged brain couldn't figure it out at the time. Thank you Stanley for the "White Lightning!"
