In the Summer of '90, my brother and two friends hit the road for a 4 city tour. Of the 4 shows we attended on this trip (Louisville, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, DC), the Pittsburgh show was by far the best weather (and the best state of mind chemically for all of us) I was thrilled to see most of the sets from all 4 shows were released to begin the View From The Vault series.
While it was not the most steller setlist I've witnessed, we were in the Phil Zone and I throroughly enjoyed the Tom Thumb's Blues, .and of course the Black Peter. The CSN opener was a treat and a very colorful hot air balloon floated over during the intermission.
This trip is one of the high points of my touring life. Other notable moments during these four shows included My first Dark Star (in the pouring rain) at RFK. Thunder storm power outage at Carter Findley, Mr Bones lost a limb at the Three Rivers show and didn’t show back up in Raleigh & DC, but I did get the dancing skeletons at two of the shows.
Anyway, thank you for a real good time!!!
