Uh Clem
Panther Hall, ZZ Top
As mentioned in another entry, Panther Hall was normally a country dance hall, so this was most likely a mid-week, "dark night" venue rental. Quicksilver, including Dino Valenti singing and Nicky Hopkins on piano, played second. The local/regional opening act was ZZ Top, who were playing one of their earliest shows in that configuration, I think, although Billy Gibbons's previous band, Moving Sidewalks, had opened concerts in Dallas and Ft. Worth prior to that.
This was my first Dead show. I haven't found the set list here yet, but I remember them opening with "Good Lovin'".
