    My first Dead concert
And what a one it was. Ran from Berkeley up to Santa Rosa in a driving rain storm in a black VW that had a hole in the roof, picked up a hitchhiker, Jimmy Olson, no sheet, and proceeded to have my brainwaves transfigured by the loopy notes that wandered through the huge skull of that hanger. Whoosh!

I can't tell from the recordings if this is an indoor or outdoor gig. I figure if the venue is Santa Rosa Fairgrounds, that means it took place outside. Anyone know for sure?

I was at this concert at the age of 19.It was a huge, metal skinned hanger-type building. I also saw Buffalo Springfield, The Doors, Big Brother, and other great shows at this venue, although the acoustics were not the greatest. It was just down the road and across the street from the Veterans Memorial Bldg which Grateful Dead also played several shows back then.Extremely fond memories of this show, especially now that I see it was the only time they played there. I remember the poster as well...
