The green-suited "Shakedown Ghost" used to live above my locker
I was in junior high school in the early 80s. My 5th grade locker was situated below some wall murals which were painted by past students. One of those murals was of the Shakedown Street "Green Ghost." It freaked me out back then because I didn't know who he was. Eventually I got the LP and realized he was just a happy and smiling ghost, probably grooving to the music.
Green Suited Shakedown Ghost-- Part 2
By the way, I visited my old junior high school recently (that's where my county holds the polls on Election Day), and realized that the mural is no longer there!!! Probably was painted over in the 90s.
That Mural...
Was in my middle school too. Did you go to Ben Franklin in NJ by any chance? I always loved that mural and I still remember being shocked in High School when I flipped over Shakedown Street to see it on the back of the album. Some middle schooler did a pretty sick job of blowing that up, it made a really cool mural!
