First of three featuring 8/4/71, a most unusual performance in a prison in southern California. Owsley Stanley, the band's patron and sound man, was incarcerated there at the time.
This is also the first GD Hour I produced after the passing of lyricist Robert Hunter, who died 9/23/19 at the age of 78.
