ditto i still think it was probley the best show i ever saw

I remember that I had listened to the dead for a few years prior to this, but I never managed to get to one of their shows before this one. Once I saw them live, I was hooked.Of course, since this was my first show it would only be natural that I would say it was one of the best I ever saw, but I think it really was. I remember that it felt like I had stepped into a time machine and went back about a dozen years. Since I was very much a hippie type back then, it was just what I was looking for. The parking lot was a carnival, a lot of uncle sam outfits that night for some reason, inside the center was a trip, and the show was an experience to behold. At the end, after the lights went up, no one would leave, we all just kept clapping and yelling. (According to the newspaper the next day, this went on for over 11 minutes). The road crew was wrapping up cable, etc, and when it became clear that we weren't leaving, the lights came back down and the Dead came out for one more, which of course was Brokedown Palace (in an effort to calm us all down). It worked, and has I walked out, I knew that I would never look at a concert the same from that point on. Without a doubt it made it's place into the top ten happiest times of my life. I saw many, many shows in various places throughout the next 12 years, and I never again saw them come back out after the lights went up.
