    Empty pages before my eyes
    Do not deny or criticize
Empty bedrooms where I've paid my dues
Watching the ceiling instead of you
Can you tell me where you've gone?
Ain't no one around to hear my songs

I've got some songs that I'd like to sing
Always brings down some other thing
Where can I go, my paths are broken?
It seems like your love is just a token
So won't you stay with me?
    Oh, stay with me

Up in the morning, out the door
Doing some business that I never know
Come back in the evening with your [mouth all forgot] (note 1)
You know I got a mind to put you out

This was played a few of times in August 1971. It is now confirmed as a Pigpen original - it is not the Traffic song of the same name.

    (1) in the version on DP35, Pigpen sings "Come back in the morning ..." but I think that's a mistake - in other versions he sings "Come back in the evening" which makes better sense.`
