Grateful Dead

Original poster for the 11/23/70 concert at the Anderson Theater in NYC. I attended this show which opened with a pantomime guy, followed by New Riders with Jerry. I think the Dead played acoustic for a while , followed by electric set .. but no confirmation of this can be found, and I was tripping... so grain of salt. This poster is an original, not one of the reprints, which I was given by a friend in 1973. It is about 35" x 24" and seems to be silk-screened on fairly heavy stock. Enjoy

This was my first concert. Nobody has a tape from this show and there is hardly any mention of it in Grateful Dead lore. But yes, it happened. If anyone has a tape from this show, I'd really appreciate it if I can get a copy! Thanks

My first show! 36 years ago and returning once again Friday night!

I had this ad that I clipped out of the Newark, NJ Star-Ledger in my scrapbook.

This is the famous banned promo poster for American Beauty. When the suits at Warner Brothers saw what Jerry was holding, they ordered the destruction of the lot. Few survive, and fewer still in unfolded condition. This one hung on the wall of Best Comics at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco in the early nineties, and now graces my living room. I dig how Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley have replaced the "American Beauty" text (or was it "American Reality," man???) with "Grateful Dead". One of these posters appeared in the 2003 CD reissue of the album.

Puzzle pass. This actually happened to a friend of mine named Butch. He was driving down the highway when approach a bank turn....while in the turn he saw a wheel whizz past him...once the car straighted out... the car feel down because it was missing a wheel. He had to run down the highway to get his wheel. I went and helped him place the wheel back on....needless to say we drank beers and had a great laugh!
