The new and exclusive monthly radio show explores the amazing archive of recordings collected by legendary Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart over the course of his career as a musician, songcatcher, preservationist, and cultural advocate.

It seems as though there’s always something to talk about in Mickey Hart’s universe. The Busy One has been working in the studio on an album with his dynamic new band, and at the end of November will embark on a big West and Midwest tour with the group.
If your cable or satellite TV system carries the Documentary Channel, be sure to tune in on Saturday August 6 at 9 p.m. for an episode of the Bravo! Canada series Innovators in Music that is devoted entirely to Mickey Hart.

Mickey Hart has discovered the rhythm of the America’s Cup.
“This is multi-dimensional rhythm machine,” Hart said after an exhilarating sail as a guest racer on board an AC45 with Russell Coutts and the ORACLE Racing team today. “The sails, the boat, the current, the wind, the integration of the sailors. These guys are rhythm masters.
“They are dancing with the wind and the current. It’s fascinating. It’s a wonderful dance and they are playing on the edge,” Hart said. “That’s where the glory is – on the edge.”
I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating: I believe The Grateful Dead Movie is the single greatest document of the Dead experience ever released.
