The night I jumped on the bus... still on board
This summer was full of a lot of firsts for me. I was 14, my family just moved to KC from Chicago. My first summer in KC got off to a cool start, I just met new friendsI began my journey with psychedelics and my cool new friends invited me to take part in an annual summer event, going to a Grateful Dead show. I didn't know much about the band and my friends said "there's nothing like a Grateful Dead show" I ended up in the orchestra pitt at Jerry's feet for the 1st set & then at Bobby's feet for the 2nd set. I remember thinking to myself "Feet don't fail me now" It was an awesome night & incredible first show. And little did I know, 35 years later I'd still be friends with every single one of those friends and still finding a way to see the Dead. After this show I traveled all over the Midwest, Southwest and West Coast to see them play. NFA ❤️

    Jerry's birthday 1982
HEY, anyone there remember just how full the moon was that night and how the band played on? The drum solos were mesmerizing. Jerry must have been backstage eating cake. I dream of that night quite often...."play til the moon sets in the west!"

My first show. The week before I was tuning in out at the local rock quary. Meet 2 girls I went to highschool with they were both older then me went back to thier house and played stip pocker. I lost and had to stip down to my holy underwear. Anyways the girls offered my a ticket and a ride the next week. I brought some fungus and was blown away by smokestack. I was trippen hard. Looked like band had cobwebs all over em. Finished the night be doing backflips across swope park. All your bass are belong to PHIL.
