Rounding the turn
Heading into 2nd half already, wow. I was 12 for 15 on the front half. I'm counting the two venue hiccups. The other three I could not enter, work gets in the way of everything (well not always). See you at the finish line, guys and mamas.
Green Mountain State
Just up that way to see Bobby and the Wolf Brothers in September. Congrats Ace, sorry to hear of the loss, peace….
13 shows that year
As I listened early today it was very clear to me the exact year with-in moments of play. Hearing a song played for the second time by the band was Grateful. This is the year they threw a few first in along with some only time played and after all last time played songs!!! Grateful year attending 13 awesome shows!
Thoughts and Prayers Ace!
Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you! We WELCOME YOU BACK!
Grateful in VT
I was super stoked to see the UVM show yesterday! I was just there on Sunday, and whenever I’m there I wonder what it was like to see the hood ol’ Grateful Dead. What a fun tour that must have been NH(opener)>VT >NY! May ‘78 is the goods! The band is in prime form w Bobby calling the shots, sweet sweet Sugaree to open, amazing Terrapin>Playin’ a Sunrise in there as well. VT has to be up there on “least played states” chart. 2 at UVM, 2 up in HIGHgate, with an almost in Middlebury. I was fortunate to be at the 94/95 shows, very special to me…to say the least, if I told you all that went down it would burn off both your ears!
keep the mother rollin'
Definitely not my favorite era of Dead, but still gratefully appreciated.
You might need to try this one two times maybe more.
I will get out of your way, since this is the first day in a week when I can literally say Here Comes Sunshine. Been more Looks Like Rain where we are at.
Cheers!
Again with the venue confusion.
Does it really matter which one we pick? They're both correct in their own ways.
sunshine venue
Other songs from this string of shows have appeared in prior 30 Days of Dead, so I'm going with that.
One more time
Asking you nice now, keep the mother rolling, one more time. All day folks!
Hold Out For More
Not a fan of shows from this decade in general (after the first year or so of the decade that is) but this performance is...shall we say...not great? The vocals are terrible. Give me a 70's version any day.
Hey moribundjt...
The same venue shows up under the name of the nearest metropolitan city too. I'm just gonna run for the roses though.
find direction
that is cause you are looking horizontally and not vertically
Took a couple tries…
I was gonna give a hint but I can’t think of any good ones. I’m just not clever enough
What to do.............
when the verses escape you? Play some amazing guitar solos of course! The more I listen the more I like it.
And on another topic:
To Ace: Blessings and healing to you during your time of loss. May the Sunshine work it's healing magic to all those affected.
Pretty Easy
Not my favorite era, but ................ Prayers are with you Ace!
This is a struggle
Hopefully I don't get banned from Deadnet for this comment but as much as I love "Here Comes Sunshine", I could have done without them revisiting it in the 90s.
A tough one
I was actually at this show. It seems like the ones you think are going to be easy end up being the tougher ones. I have go lie down now.
bullseye
Got lucky where i started and found it on the first try!
I do understand the critiques of this era, and why it might not be everyone's "fave." But I enjoy it, warts and all, because these are the years where I was able to see them (saw my first show in '92 at age 15). There are plenty of real gems to be found in these years too, and I appreciate Dave for highlighting some. (I absolutely love the 6th song in the 1st set of today's show, think it's the best version of it!)
I wish SXM would play more from the '90s.
Here Comes Sunshine
The vibe was so familiar, as well as the mix. Found it on the first version I checked.
MAYBE IT TRY IT TWO TIMES
MAYBE MORE-- this one show--- specifically I am proud of my husband for his presence as well as taping of this show and am so lucky to have an original AUD/PRO/DVD that I can share with him. He was good at what he did- ASU did well for him- but this show was epic in more ways than I can speak on music.

wake of the flood
such a great album. been enjoying the good ol' Grateful Deadcasts on this topic, and this song.
had no idea where to start, so it took me a while but we finally found the sunshine today. Indian Summer weather here in the Lake Michigan region.
this is one heady show! Jah bless the tapers, bless Lemieux, and bless you too.
Just a minute to go
Doesn't reset at midnight EST, but I like to think it does. Got it with seconds to spare! Cool to see a UVM show come up yesterday, headed home that way for Thanksgiving next week
Get Out The PANS (2 times)
Thank You Kindly Jerome for that small lyrical flub, otherwise I wouldn't have found it!
Irony is it's over my favorite line about shoes and the floor.
This is where it starts to get hard
Listening to this just brings mixed feelings for me, including a lot of sadness at Jerry's manifest deterioration. He sounds like he's really struggling here, and the band struggles with him. (Those chirping keyboards sound like something you'd hear at a Rotary Club wedding.) I guess it's important to remember those times as well as the better ones, but musically, this isn't one I'll need to listen to again.
what day are you referring to
yesterday was 1979
today was a pretty ok time
just curious
