Yeah, and they never did find his killers, did they?

Ah yes...

Another sighting of the response-ahead-of-original-post bug. Take no notice, it's being worked on.

Bad Scene

I believe that this is the show where that Katz kid was killed. Security had been brutal the entire run. I remember seeing people going through bad trips trussed up and gagged with the most horrible look of fear coming through their bulging eyes.
Many instances of heads getting roughed up. The first three days concertgoers were to park in Giant's Stadium lot and walk the bridge/overpass to the Brendan Byrne Arena. On the day of the murder (Katz was seen taken into a security van and then his body was found dropped dead under an overpass between the arena and the stadium) all hell had broken out after the show and people were just running across the freeway to their cars. I knew something weird had happened. Posters asking for info were posted at shows from then on.

Adam Katz was killed 10/14/89

I wasn't at this show but was at the previous night's show and that's the one where the security guards beat him, killed him, and threw his body off the overpass. My cousin watched them beat him up, load him into the van, and drive away. Only later did we learn what happened. A dark, dark moment indeed.

Definitely not one of the better shows

this was a weakish first set and the second set was short. My buddy, Dave Donner, referred to this as the "Cocktail Lounge" Eyes of the World - very quick paced. The energy outside the show was completely weird and dark. It was an okay drive from Baltimore, but the ride home was a pain. Attendance at the Philly shows, a few days later in the tour, made up for this off-night.
