GO PackersThink the Commandos are the underrated dark horse here, though can never count out that Pesky Baker!
Damn Chargers folded faster than a pup tent on Everest to use a favorite quote from our missing friend from the great white north! How’s it Mikey?
And the other game was not so much a surprise as the Steelers have been tanking last month…
Ok, how bout some Pat Metheny to calm out nerves before the big game (s) - bluecrowJoined:Incredible late 60s photo collection
a general fyi - just stumbled across this - kickstarter re an incredible collection of 1000s of photos - seemingly professionally shot - color slides and b/w prints from late 60s San Francisco/Haight/Golden Gate Park etc./political rallies/protests. photographer unknown, purchased in storage locker auction 1980s (sound familiar?), many of the rolls undeveloped (now being processed). bonus content - some great photos of the Dead performing ca. 1967. search kickstarter "who shot me - stories unprocessed". also a blog post on internet archive for the project, as well as a utoob video. Ultimate goal (I think) is to have photos available on archive. the photos they include in the presentation are freaking amazing.
Oro - the Dreams of Gaia is gorgeous - and a gateway to a whole bunch of artists in that "genre" as the included booklet has an excellent discussion of each track. Get yourself a copy and enjoy!
out working today. enjoy your Sunday friends!

ISTSHOW: I’m worried the Donkeys are going to upstart the mighty Bills.
They’ve been on a slow upward trend and got their mojo working, hopefully just not on Bu faf…the Bills, or at least their defense doesn’t seem to always show up or can be complacent.. Put those two together, add a terrible kicker, a clueless coach, and the usual Buffalo curse of fuckery, and it spells good chance for upset! I just hope it’s a good game and the league/Refs don’t wreck it and effect the outcome via some blatant lame ass BS…you know, how somehow KC always seems to win even when obviously otherwise beaten by their opponent.
And how does the Super bowl champs always get such an easy schedule…?
Used to be tgey were supposed to get the toughest?
Anyway, good luck to you my friend, may the better team win!BC: that earth sounds stuff is right up my alley, thanks for recommending, well have to check it out!

McCoy Tyner - Inception
John Coltrane - Giant Steps
Dire Straits - CommuniqueGoGD DaP 51, disc 2 including '70 Kiel Auditorium filler ... I know some have trouble with the sound on this. But once past the fluctuations in Truckin' (I just lower the volume for that stretch), the Good Lovin' that follows is Super Sweet and worth your time. Will hit up the Pittsburgh slice again soon
On now: Groove-a-licious (!) 06.17.76 Capitol Theater, Passaic, NJ to prepare for the upcoming DaP shipment
Cheers, All

My heart goes out to all those affected by the wildfires in California. Just listened to the service for Jimmy Carter. What an extraordinary man of great character. Garth and Trisha sung Imagine. Beyond words for me, grew up in the DC area eons ago, connections are strong still. Family had involvement with the building and services at the National Cathedral, I arranged for my high school Humanities Class to visit while still under construction in 1969, our class was allowed to go all the way up on top on one of the main towers where with a couple friends, discreetly lit up a joint. Literally the highest point in the city. A college friend and I had a tour of the White House later on during the hostage crisis under the Carter admin, the secret service were everywhere. Watching the motorcade and hearse travel from the Capital to the National Cathedral down roads I have travelled almost all my life, have my ticket stub from the 1961 Inauguration, was an usher for the Congressional Medal of Honor section next to the Presidential Box for the January 20, 1969 Inauguration in full dress Eagle Scout uniform. Not to get political, same time went down to massive Viet Nam war demonstrations to take photos , realized the power of media because the camera meant I could go almost anywhere. Still special to go to the National Gallery last month to see Mr. Sun and have Grant Gordy ask me where DaVinci's Ginvera de Benci was, like I knew.

A 2 CD compilation of ambient recordings released by Earth Ear back ca. 1999. 24 tracks of amazing, beautiful soundscapes representing a wild range of locations and sources, primarily in nature but at times cultural. Gorgeous and fascinating. Earth Ear was a non-profit(?) dedicated to ambient recordings, releasing a handful of their own and providing a market place for a large and diverse number of ambient recordists. I found my copy at Dr. Wax on N. Clark in Chicago, on a visit to the home country shortly after it was released. As it turns out, a gift from the gods. I love it.
