1st real traveling show
My 1st Brent show ,was way up close 1st set got great Jerry photos, Jerry in red and pigtails.Did'nt see that often, was about 10 ft. from the new guy...decided to let a buddy drive my car back to Jersey which they broke down in Delaware for 10 hrs. while I hoped a ride with some buds who were heading to Baltimore
First Hampton show, first Brent show. Only no encore show.
I attended this show with my brother, who had been a Dead fan before me. My sister also went. I can't believe we talked her into it. She fell asleep.
This was the first of many decent shows that I would see at Hampton, which became a great venue for the band, as the vide was always good. At least as long as I was attending shows regularly.
There was no encore if feel because during Truckin' someone throws their jacket and Bod gets hung up in it and has to shake it off.
Again, wise there were some better copies of this show in circulation.
Everything I've learned is from The Grateful Dead and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Got to learn to spell and proof read

no nukes
Headed down to hampton roads with my cousin, his girlfriend (sweet anne marie) and his buddies Ron-a-mick and Al bag-a-doughnuts. Al was very much into to the electric experience and once split his lip from smilling to much and too long. I remember enjoying the show, especially the return of "Don't Ease," and had a great cup of coffee the next morning at a local IHOP. On the way back, we dropped Al off at the No Nukes rally in DC. I am not sure I have seen him since and I have yet to have a cup o' joe to compare.
Good Times
The Hampton Concerts were always special to me.
This being my first Dead show at Hampton, and 4th overall.
I was just back from Alaska, where I spent a dismal year in the Aleutions, WELCOME back to civilization!
Drove up from Elizabeth City NC.
Good times. Kind of small venue, but it was okay. The parking lot was a party.
Hometown Show
Since the band was uninvited to play William and Mary any longer after the last show in '78 coincided with "Parents Weekend" at the college where they like to brag "300 years of tradition unhampered by progress", the band moved the show down the road to hampton: my hometown!I was fortunate to see every show played at Hampton.
As Uncle Deuce said, the parking lot was always a party at hampton. The local constabulary was always pretty tolerant. That's saying a lot for the Hampton constabulary.
Good times!
little bolt of inspiration
This was the 3rd show with Brent. Jerry came out in ponytails. Half step sounded great. Franklins took us to the next dimension. The show was the Dead in new skin. It was a new beginning with endless possibilities in front of us. The playing was sharp and downright inspired.
Vinyl Release RSD 2014!!
