    Backstage Pass
I had a backstage pass for this show that I didn't use because of Steve's family tragedy. I just didn't feel comfortable going back there after what happened. Plus, I wanted to be in the crowd with all the other heads. I still have the pass, it's light blue with a tour truck on it.

You are so correct there was a feeling of sadness at these shows.I remember thinking it must be very tough to go threw something like that.Having lost your loved ones. And Here I sit some 25 to 30 years later going threw the same feelings. Having lost my girl to an auto accident.Life happens folks always enjoy every minute you can. Here one minute gone to heaven the next.I have no regrets,I would go threw it again and again because she was the most wonderful girl I have ever met. Always miss Gina and everyday is closer to seing her again. These shows were alot of fun even with the sad under tones. Funny to hear froggers name after all the years, there was a time we spent alot of time together at shows over the years.

My very first New Year's Eve show. My very first California show. My very first...and only...time being dosed at a show without my knowledge at the time. Zip-Bang!!!!

My first show in Cali, as well. WOW the San Fran Civic. Maybe it was just because it was California (doubt it), but I thought it was AWESOME ! Bill on his lightening bolt, the balloons, and the Nevilles. Got to see more New year's shows, but NOT there. Fairly small venue & we stuck it out on floor for the whole show - seriously we NEVER left our "area", not even to go pee (didn't drink much-did NOT need to-we were not touching the ground as it was. Didn't matter, too much fun on the floor then. I had just realized they REALLY never play any two shows the same. That is a challenge unless "the music plays the band". Favorite thing - my first Scarlet - Fire......still lovin' it. peace

Only New Years I went to of the 8 New Years runs I saw that I got shut out of . Saw first two night but couldn't pull the New Years ticket. Bummed. Made the best of it listening with like minded freaks off of KFOG.

This Shakedown Street just rocks. It's available on the So Many Roads CD.

What an awesome show. It was my only New Year's Show. A friend gifted me the ticket, I hitched out from Boulder and sought relief from a life not being so kind. Played volleyball with Bill Graham and family on the main floor before the show, won a ticket to a show at Berkeley. Shakedown, Scarlet Fire, The Wheel, Baby Blue - Amazing...____________________________________ Louder isn't necessarily better, it is just louder.

I had a blast at this show. Paid $100 for ticket and it was well worth it. Met some really cool people. Shakedown was the hilite.

My only NY show, and there's a lot of good to remember-- Bill G. flying in on the lightning bolt, the friends, the music. But I was underwhelmed with the openers, and it was a bit disappointing to be able to see John Cippolina and Merle Saunders backstage but not have either come out to jam. And there was undercurrent of sorrow-- underscored by the funeral wreaths on the sides of the stage-- due to the death of Steve Parish's wife and daughter in an accident a couple nights earlier.
