    The Aiko Aiko Show
Well, I'll never forget that show. I went up with my new college friends, Jay Fendrick, Mikey Miller, Larry Cherry, and others (maybe Greg Pisani?). All I can remember is that the weather was shit and the driver (Larry Cherry) was trippin, as were the others. I was not...just the odd doobie. So driving from Ithaca to Rochester was a trip indeed. The show was amazing as the Dead decided to break into Aiko Aiko near the end, I think, and what I'm told is that Aiko Aiko, up to that date, had not been played in nearly a decade or more. Folklore, who knows. This Rochester show goes down in my memory as one of the best of my 25 shows, for sure. Thanks Ithaca mates for a laugh, and to God for getting me home safely!

I worked this show as Security for the War Memorial. We were not allowed to turn around and watch the show. I worked the front Pit and got to hear it. I remember bringing Genny beers to the Band in the downstairs rooms.

Drove all night in a snow storm, was in a 78 capri with Two-bit, and Joe Affrunti. Two bits brother Ron was following us in a 71 Fury, It spun off the road near Rochester, on the Thruway. The tow truck waited till sunrise before they got him going again. We waited in our cars outside the war memorial untill the doors opened, than charged the stage, got about 20 ft from the stage. It was great, the crowd was lit up.

I was going to U of R at the time. Got there early. The scene at the doors was insane. Played "Help on the Way." Stood in front with my home-boy Billy Keane who went to Brockport. Beginning of something good.
