This was my first but by no
This was my first but by no means last Dead show. I was stationed in San Diego by the Navy ( 32nd St & Harbor Dr. ) A shipmate asked if I had ever seen them, I said no. Ralph McDonald from Chi-town is the person who changed that. Our tickets stated an obstructed view. LOL . That turned out to be a wall of speakers that were positioned stage left. We both dropped 2 hits of purple barrel, and the rest as they say was history. After being discharged from the Navy, I made it a point to see as many shows as possible. I had scheduled some vacation time to see them when possible. The most memorable time would be seeing CSN in Philly on friday at the mann music center, 2 days later a CSN/Dead show in Pittsburgh, then 3 days later a wednesday show at rfk stadium in d.c. Ground scored some kind bud in the parking lot before this show. To this day I seek all recordings Dead. Wish I had one from this one. Love & Peace to all us Dead Heads, live long, smoke as much as u can and prosper.

    My girlfriend (sunshine
My girlfriend (sunshine ...how are you?) decided to paint our selfs half black and white...like the star trek episode. Jamed down to SD for the show...had great seats. Some dick in the entry said we wre at the wrong concert ...Kiss was across the bay. What an asshole! Anyway Jerry couldn'nt sing but he played his ass off. Best I've ever seen (He even duckwalked!)Donna and Bobby took over the vocals and it was the best ever! Ity was like James Brown and Marthe Vandell was in the house (with Jerry doing Chuck Berry) Loved it...please give us the tapes!, Fil B
