    Rhythm Devils Announce August Dates

The Rhythm Devils began as the duo of Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann and his percussionist partner Mickey Hart. Over the years, they transcended rock and roll drum stereotypes with polyrhythmic explorations of the world of percussion, using an extraordinary variety of instruments and approaches. The aftermath of this collaboration was the larger Rhythm Devils, which have made periodic reappearances over the years. The 2010 version includes Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, Keller Williams (guitar, vocals), Davy Knowles (guitar, vocals), Sikiru Adepoju (talking drum), and Andy Hess (bass). Together, they will take music beyond the horizon to a universe where rhythm is in constant flux and sound has infinite potential.

Still no Bay Area shows! At least a few of us got to see Mickey sitting in with Seven Walkers at the Harmony Festival. It was great, but as always, I left wanting more...

we just saw the Rhythm Devils this past Sunday night and were blown away. Bill and Mickey are always awesome, that's a given, but i was incredibly blown away by the whole line up. i couldn't hear the introductions, but the percussionist was amazing, as was the bassist. Keller Williams really impressed me and seems very humble. there was this young guy on guitar and wow--great interpretation and precision! i was truly impressed. the best part for me was hearing the new tunes "Fountains of Wood" and "Center." at first i thought they were the "kid's" lyrics because he was singing them (and i thought "how could he come up with such great lyrics"--no offense) but later found out that they are Robert Hunter lyrics--of course! both Furthur and Rhythm Devils have taken it further. maybe we can get them all together soon. it was a perfect evening for us even though it would have been nice to see a better turn out. i was pleasantly surprised by the audience reaction at the end. i have not heard louder applause for an encore at the Britt, which was truly amazing considering the size of the audience! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you. i am enriched.

i didn't mention the line-up as listed above because i couldn't hear the introductions and wasn't sure if that was the exact line-up. but i'm kinda assuming it was, and they were great! thanks again to everybody involved in getting this great show to our ears, especially Bill & Mickey!
