Out to Jake R yesterday... I included some rehearsals from 75 with the 3 shows... to try to fill up a single DVD.... but inadvertantly left off a 2nd copy of the March show I wanted to include.... sorry.I have asked Jake R to confirm an address and an interest before sending this on.... don't want it to get lost if possible. Thanks. Raymond

If there is interest I can start a vine. I have offered in the past with no takers. I have almost all of 1995 shows. I have listed the ones that I have already converted from tape to CD. These shows are Digital clones of Gen 1 DAT or 2nd Gen Tape. Yes I still have DAT. They are rotting away a slow death. I went DECK to CD Burner. I use a Sony RCD-W500C Burner. I love it and can copy a vine in 20 -30 minutes. Anyway the list below I have already transfered. I will be checking the reponses I see. PM if interested and I will start a vine. All SBD>C except 03-19. If there is a huge response I can vine all of the shows below in 3 waves.02-20 02-21 03-17 03-18 03-19 Af:DAT>C 03-23 03-26 03-27 04-02 04-07 06-02 06-25 07-06 07-09 Let the music flow.... Deadtaper

Hey now, I am signed up for 15 vines right now and I went through and figured out that 7 are goners (and this is no small feat!). Anyone able to help revive some of (most of) these? :-) There are some really nice shows on these vines. Plus some died early leaving behind a long list of people who got left out in the cold rain and snow. I'm trying my hardest to get the vine yard rolling again it feels like we have come to a screeching halt. Thanks so much in advance for any help you can provide in this very important matter (I know it's not THAT important but you know what I mean) :-) Your vining pal, JSfC 1. Greek '84 Vine - I actually have 7/13 and 7/15 does anyone have 7/14 and I'll re-seed this or someone re-seed all 3 shows? 2. Santa Fe '83 Vine 3. Early Stuff Volume 1 Vine 4. JGB 12/21/79 Vine 5. The Lapful Laughs Goodie Bag Vine - dstache vined 7/18/72 but I'd really like to get the 4/5/69 show - seriously it looks awesome 6. Jerry's Last Show Vine - I know some folks have mentioned vining 95 shows like deadtaper and EDAD, so should I wait for that or try to re-vive this one? 7. 2 from 72 Vine - I think the shows on this one have been replaced in other vines? I believe it was in the mid-80's when the Dead did a benefit concert for the Seva Foundation. The show was in Toronto and it broadcasted all over north america. I would like to find out the date of the show and then a source for the tunes. Please send me a PM if you can help. Thank you!

In the early 70's the National Lampoon Radio Hour was on Sunday nights. The people on the show became the initial Sat Nite Live group. Anyway, one night the show was a spoof on Hunter Thompson heading to Sanfran to a Dead show on a barge that wouldn't stop rocking till it hit Hawawii. As the radio show tapered off, the Dead began singing a song about shooting up cocaine. It sure did sound like the Dead, and Jerry singing. Did the band really do that song for the radio show? Thanks!

Ha, found it myslef. Jerry did a "walk on" for the show, he sang "Cocaine Express Mainline". My search suggested the song was/is famous but I've never heard about it besides listening to the radio that nite. Just think, Jerry and the band knew Jake and Elwood before Saturday Night Live was created. Here's the link for the song, it's a hoot. Thanks folks. http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4716482/NL_Grateful_Dead_Live_-_Cocaine…

. . . correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you reseeded the Dylan and the Dead vine, which is shows rather than rehearsals. The Dylan-Dead Rehearsals vine has been out of circulation for a while. (Btw, word on the street is that the rehearsals include better stuff than the shows, but of course, ymmv.) ~~~~~~~ "To shed light, not to master"

Musky - sorry to say that the song you refer to is a parody - and I doubt it is really the GOGD or Jerry himself. UncleJon, after considering that I've never heard the reference in any of the Dead books I have, I think you are likely right. I wonder who sang the song on Lampoon, sure sounded like Jerry. Thanks!

Remember that there is a Dylan and the Dead Vine and a Dylan and the Dead Rehearsals vine. I think there may be some confusion in a couple of the D and the D topics. An unprecedented amount of vines have disappeared over the summer, really it's just 2 maybe 3 people who have taken down the vineyard. One of the vines are the 1973 shn/flac vines - 8 parts in all, which needs full-on re-seeding. There are many more too - I'll look into it more but a lot of the 1990's stuff that Nice Hippy Guy started plus others that Jake R has posted about lately .. again most of these are from those same 2 people. Ridiculous. Anyways I would love to get these going because they are some of the best vines out there, covering a pretty sweet year. I'll get a hold of ripple1974 because he had posted that he would re-seed parts 1 and 2 to kwitt and then I'd like to follow up with kwitt to see if he can still re-seed part 4, then I can start working on early 73, parts 3,5,6,7. Well, then I can look into the other stuff too as I have time. It's just sad seeing all these vines disappear. I'd also like to clean up some of the lists if you know what I mean! Let it grow! As jackstraw posted, a lot of vines have been taken down this year by the same 2/3 people. Such a shame that all of 73 is gone. In addition to that entire year, here are some of the newer vines that i'm on that have ceased to be and a reseed would be greatly appreciated. Fillmore East April 26, 27, 28, & 29, 1971 February 1986 HJK Sept/Oct '89 Mountain View 8 From Spring 90 Capital Center '91 New 1990s Part 4 and 5 1995 Vine Part 1 It also appears that Summer '72 shn/flac was lost in the mail but waiting for pm from davec to see if he sent this as he posted he did since joneb said he never received it. Hope some kind ppl can get this music going again. Thanks for any help Jake

Hey now! It breaks this 'ol hippy's heart to see all these stalled vines. I'll help out as much as I can. Jake R - do you have a couple of vines that are your favorites that I could get going in the near term? There are so many missing vines it's hard to decide where to start :( I bet the '74 vine is one of them! Btw if I say I'll re-seed a vine and then forget to do it, just remind me again and maybe again =) =) "The dire wolf collects his due while the boys sing round the fire"
