Bobby sang Looks Like Rain. It rained. Then a rainbow appeared.... ( Personal opinion: Dead & Co could take a no cell phones stance like Bob Dylan- the people in the row ahead of me would leap to their feet for a fast number & start shooting video, then when the band played a slow one theyd sit & stare into their laps while texting. I know this is a transitional period for society and their phones but we have to start training people to hang up ocasionally )

I'm not digging this lineup with Mayer. IMO they should have hired JK away from DSO or maybe even Stanley Jordan. Did you kids see Bobby kinda signal to Mayer with his guitar to get away from him the other night in Bristoe? Hahaha!!

Yikes! $50 a spot!?!? I checked that website and, I hope it's just because I'm looking 24 hours ahead, but they are running $50+ too. Is there a garage, etc. that you usually hit? I don't know much about Chicago. Our hotel is in "Rosemont". Google says about a 45 min drive. They also say no tailgating. Does that mean that there is no Shakedown Street at this? Or is it set up somewhere else? Peace, -Dave

So jealous. Had to sell my GA tics due to family commitments. Parking is tough since WF is in a very residential area. I usually park about 1/2 mile away. Use spothero.com; I usually pay 10 or 12 dollars for a spot. Even on major event days. Have fun.....

The placed was packed. More fans in the Pit than at a Met game. Great scene. Lots of fun at Skakedown Street. I must say Touch of Grey and Johnny B Goode was the best double encore I have heard from this GD version. Absolutely, solid show with some high peaks. End of both sets jamming. Have a big old smile. I hope these boys continue the wonderful music.......

I've always been a glass half empty kind of guy. We are now 5 shows into the tour and they are getting much tighter, the shows are now going 3 hours in duration. I haven't been to one yet this year, waiting on the east coast swing. I have heard all of the SBDs to date and boys are on Fire. The second set of 6/1 is a seamless masterpiece. My only criticism is the lack of "new" meaning old varied material. The song pool is pretty much the same as 2015, with a few exceptions. My favorite part of any Grateful Dead show was always the "holy shit" moments of surprise. The setlist while admirable have been and remain predictable. With that said, the execution of the music is exceptional. Long live the good 'ol Grateful Dead... LET OTIEL SING MORE! His bass solo during Eyes last night was incredible... like Jaco Pastorius in tie dye

Last time I came up here was for Furthur. They were busting people for smoking. Is that still the practice?

John Mayer continues to improve and amaze: he's really becoming a leader on the stage. Billy and Mickey keep smiling, Oteil is laid back, Jeff enjoys his 3 keyboards, and Bobby is looking good.Looking forward to the next nugs.net feed: it's less expensive than dropping a few hundred $$$ in Boulder! From the Atlanta feed, Scarlet into Shakedown was interesting. Does anyone know if Candace is leading the light show crew? Video and lights are wonderful!

Ted, Yes, agreed, this is a new thing for me... I got a projector for like $250... hooked up a makeshift screen in my backyard, invited some friends over and livestreamed Friday & Saturday shows from Boulder... next best thing to being there! So great to see the band was naturally digging it... drifting, jamming, dancing, smiling... what more do you need? I am hoping to do Fenway and/or Citifield. Good to see the vibe still very much alive. iGrateful

Life is all good! No matter what Mother Nature sends us every day is a blessing and another day to learn and boogie. Yes, have been across the US and up and down the East Coast many times but all in all dancing thru the bumps made it better. Then again I did all of this when Jerry was alive and well. How about you?

too many fancy words in the review, but it does sound like a great show. I caught the nugs from Atlanta....and it was really fine. wish I could get out and catch a show or 3.keep posting comments and commentary about the shows. if t weren't for vicarious shows, I'd have no shows at all.

Unlike when the Dead last played there in the '80s, Blossom was sold out all the way Wednesday night, with a dense slow crowd at the gate following huge traffic & parking delays. Lots of folks missed the first set. If the crowds get much bigger we will be back to what it was like in '95, with disappointed miracle-seekers climbing fences, popping doors, crashing gates. The free stream of the entire show on Nugs was a great idea, under the circumstances, and much appreciated!

I would take seriously the guidance from the Wrigley people: public transportation The stadium was built into that neighborhood before cars became THE way that everyone got everywhere.

Blossom has always been like that. I lived in Cleveland area 1989 to 2008, caught various shows there. All were pretty much a cluster getting in and out. From images I saw on line, it looks like the "back way" in has been discovered and was equally clustered as the regular way. The Dead with Warren Haynes played there in 2004, I think it was, too.

So the Free Parking at Cuyahoga Falls was sweet -- it was an extremely relaxed vibe and dead quiet in the middle of the woods -- THANK U < COME AGAIN. PS where have ALL THE DRUM CIRCLES GONE ???

Made it to both shows (sort of). It was great. Sadly, some chronic medical stuff ended my night early Friday. 4+ hours of driving, half of which was more like parking on Lake Shore, did these old bones in. But a good night's sleep, and a relaxing afternoon wandering Univ of Chicago (aka Hogwarts!) and I made it for the whole show Saturday. The vibe was great both nights. The band played great. We were up high but still had a great view of stage and screens. It was an awesome time seeing them. Saturday, Oteil seemed to be grinning ear-to-ear the entire show. Can't remember ever seeing someone so happy to be playing. Peace, -Dave

Eager ears await this Texas two step! Some friends heading to the show are meeting at Small Brewpub around lunch to stream Dead, enjoy some drinks, and discuss Alligator > Caution, Sailor > Circumstance, Scarlett > Fire, West LA Fadeaway, Jack Straw, The Other One, El Paso, The Eleven, What's Become of the Baby's connection to the Velvet Underground, the Grateful Dead and VU both playing the famed Dallas venue End of Cole Ave... you get it. If anyone is interested, there will be friends.

Hey Bobby,
You play too slow. My wife won’t go to the Dead & Co. show at Wriggly Field because your pace is always slow. My friends Grant and Martha felt you were too slow at Folsom. My mailman says you’re too slow. He and I went to a bunch of GD shows before Jerry’s passing, and are excited about Dead and Co. But we’re losing our enthusiasm because the pace is slow. Please play more songs faster!
