• Lost/Taken Dog at Philadelphia Dead show 2nd night

Heynow! My name is Jason, but almost everyone knows me as "jbird." I am far away from home, Hawaii, and almost 2 months ago, I had my worst nightmare come true the 2nd night of the Philadelphia Dead show.

    jbird and odessa

My service dog in training, Odessa, was picked up by someone on the parking lot during the show. My dogsitter sent me a text message during the ST. Stephen saying she was missing. I ran out of the show and for the next two hours frantically looked for her.

From what i understand. the couple that picked her up asked around whose dog it was, but would not give her to my friends, they were being protective of her, which i understand and appreciate. The fact is, however, that I have posted ads in the philadelphia inquirer, craigslist, called and walked through the shelter, posted at ratdog.org. and ....Shoots. i even flew from San Diego to a DSO show in Philly in hopes of getting a lead, but it seems that whomever has her has not been very proactive in finding me.

Odessa provides emotional and therapeutic support for me, and is the only grip on reality i had left. She went in 6 of the shows that tour before she was lost. I feel so terrible about this, but i lost her collar a few shows prior in wilkes barre. The reason she wandered off was because i take her almost everywhere i go, and she went looking for me.

Someone also said that they saw her with the people at the Sheraton. I went there and had them review the surveillance tapes but came up with nothing.

I have been seeing shows for 20 years as of last weekend. I will never stop looking for her. I am grateful to those that have read this and sent prayers to me. I will be at Rothbury, passing out flyers. If you want to find me there, just ask around to anyone that looks like they are on tour and ask for jbird, or send me a pm here. I do believe in miracles, and would trade it all just to have this one come true.

Mahalo, and thank you in advance for any prayers, support, or suggestions. Also, thank you Marye. Aloha, jbird
