Grateful Dead

Tripping my brains out, I went up to the stage and shook hands with Jerry after the show!!!! I actually attended this college the year before, when Gary Puckett and the Union Gap appeared (I did not go LOL), so when the time to vote next year's concert came around, all of us Deadheads got together and voted for the Dead and we got them..Power to the people....

Hey there WOMAN,,,WOMAN you were just a YOUNG GIRL then. What was it LADY, WILLPOWER that got you to go up and shake the hand that..... Can't get OVER YOU weren't a Gap Head then....Ahhh Phuckett, guess THIS GIRL IS A WOMAN NOW

It was hot as hell in that gym. My 2nd show. I remember NRPS better than the Dead, cuz of all the covers. Jerry on pedal, Phil, and Mickey with Nelson and Torbert(?). I remember "Hard To Handle" and what a presence Pigpen had- a real "star"! Wish I had a setlist.

My friend says that they were throwing something out to the audience at this show -- but I don't remember that. Weren't we all sitting on the floor?

My first show (age 16) high on mescaline they opened with the New Riders (fantastic) and had two more sets with the Dead...It was in the college gymnasium as I recall we sat on the floor...the "stage" was not elevated very much and the place was packed (and hot). I became a lifelong fan from that day on!
