Week of December 16-22, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1983, and 1988.
Our first selection this week is from one of the Dead’s hometown venues in 1969, the Family Dog at the Great Highway, where we have this excellent sequence from 8/29/69: Casey Jones, Easy Wind, Me And My Uncle > High Time, New Orleans> Searchin> Good Lovin', Dire Wolf> King Bee.
Next up is music from Eugene, OR, on 8/31/83, where we have this inspire start of the second set from the final night of the Dead’s first run at Silva Hall at the Hult Center: Cold Rain And Snow ; Playing In The Band > China Doll.
Lastly this week is the entire second set from 8/26/88 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA, just south of Seattle. From this late summer show, we have China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Playing In The Band > Uncle John's Band > Drums > Space > Touch Of Grey > I Need A Miracle > Black Peter > Turn On Your Lovelight, Black Muddy River.
Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.

So0 great to listen to a Summer 88 show that is not in the community's circulation. Most of the official GD releases are from the 60's and 70's, so its awesome to get late unreleased late 80's shows here in the Tapers Section. Please post more from 87-90! Thank you so much and Happy Holidaze!
still here
Have to say, I went for the '88 last week when I was here. Happy holidays all! :-)
