Before I posted this, I went to the Vindex, and this is what I found: Eurovine #2: no activity since 12/2008. Early '78 6-pack: no activity since 03/2010. 'Stache rides 1978: no activity since 8/2009. Funicului Funicula vine: no activity since 10/2009 (with a request for a re-seed) Popmo's 1978 Vine: no activity since 10/2009 Enter the Matrix: no activity since 10/2009. mixed Bag GD: no activity since 4/2009 The following vines are Still Alive: * 'Stache's Fav's from early '78 * (originally I thought this was dead, but it's not) Three from 82, and a '78 too Omaha/Red Rocks '78 vine Huntington, WV '78 Cleveland Rocks v.2 Originally I had intended NOT to include any shows that were on vines that are still alivefor a couple reasons: 1). I didn't want to squash out anyone's vine, and 2). I didn't want the people holding these vines to get stuck with them if i was responsible for making them extinct. Well, I see that I did screw up ... I included shows that are on 'Staches Fav's from early '78 on the 1978 Lossless vine pt.1. For that, I apolagize to dstache, and whoever is holding the seeds to his vine. The seeds to 1978 v.1 had all ready gone out, so I'm not sure what I can do about that. I also see that there are a bunch of shows on the 1978 v.2 seeds that are part of 'Staches Fav's from early '78. I can re-burn the seeds leaving these shows off. I will leave it up to dstache, marye and JakeR. I guess for now, pt.2 is on hold until I hear from them Sorry if I upset anyone. Peace, Chris

Well a lot of this has been vined before. Some of the vines are not dead they just don't have anyone signed up. Just sayin'... "It's got no signs or dividing line and very few rules to guide"

I believe that on the original vine 2/3 and 2/5 only included the tracks that were NOT on DP # 18. I always forget whether it was 2/3 or 2/5, but that Scarlet/Fire is one of my 3 favorite ones, along with 1/31/78, played only days earlier, and the officially released 10/14/83.

Here's a bunch more shows from dead Dead vines.I omitted 4/10/78 and 4/16/78 because they are included on vines that are still alive and well (ie: three from '82 and a '78 too, and Huntington WV '78 vine respectivly) Also 2/3/78 and 2/5/78 were omitted because they are availible on DP 18. Here are 8 shows given to me by our fine friend RaymondMBrown. Thanks for the shows Ray! I've listened to the first 4 shows. 3/20, 3/27 and 3/31 are Very Good shows, and, I almost can't believe I am going to say this about a 90's show, 4/1 is a GREAT show! Although the setlist isn't that important a part of my grading system, you have to like when the WORST Jerry song on paper is Black Peter. On 4/1 we get a Bird Song, China > Rider, Dark Star, and Baby Blue, not to mention Peggy O and Candyman. Thank you, Jerry! Hey now! So this vine will finish off the shows that were recommended by the Compendium as the best of 1992 (thanks to dstache!). This will be 3 dvds of shn/flac. Since I don't like sending out discs that are NOT chock full of music =) I wanted to fill up disc 3 so I added the Garcia/Grisman shows from May 1992 at the Warfield. Now these are aud recordings and all but 1 were taped by an unkown taper in an unkown location using unknown equipment but wow from the parts I have listened to they are good quality and the shows themselves are, well, f-ing awesome! =) 5/8 was vined by That Nice Hippy Guy but I will include it here also, might as well! 1993 (and 94) Compendium Picks are still under construction..... Jimmy you have to wait til marye posts a new vine. All those names are from the Early 69 Part 1 Vine that was going to be reseeded but I was fortunate enough to get shows to add to it and killing that vine basically. Hell it was inactive since 2009.So please follow procedure here in the vineyard and wait til a vine has its own thread before you sign on it. Thanks Jake

I'm starting the 1972 right now, but so this other one is a reseed of an old one plus new stuff so I should also take the Early 69 Part 1 out of the Vineyard?

A great representation of April and May. Out of these months came Dick's Picks No. 26 (April 26 "highlights" and the enire April 27th show) and Road Trips 4.1 (complete shows of May 23 & 24)This vine includes a great Avalon Ballroom Run (4/4—6) and The Ark Shows as well. Again, the ! means that they are extra good shows as rated by the Admins of Workingmans tracker. ! gd1969-04-04.sbd.sacks.1314.shnf ! gd1969-04-05.sbd.miller.18701.shnf ! gd1969-04-06.fm.cotsman.9492.shnf gd1969-04-11.sbd.cotsman.15404.shnf gd1969-04-12.sbd.cotsman.14914.shnf gd1969-04-13.sbd.miller.87378.flac16 gd1969-04-15.mtx.dan.33952.flac16 gd1969-04-18.sbd.miller.88867.flac16 gd1969-04-20.sbd.lutch.4992.shnf ! gd1969-04-21.sbd.miller.88465.flac16 ! gd1969-04-22.sbd.miller.88466.flac16 gd1969-04-23.sbd.miller.98968.flac16 gd1969-04-25.sbd.miller.97392.flac16 ! gd1969-04-26.sbd.miller.97393.flac16 (outtakes not incl on Picks 26) gd1969-05-03.sbd.miller.95138.flac16 gd1969-05-10.sbd.tzuriel.1336.shnf gd1969-05-11.fm.cotsman.6296.shnf gd1969-05-16.sbd.clugston.6316.shnf gd1969-05-29.sbd.jim.14018.shnf gd1969-05-30.sbd.miller.87516.flac16 gd1969-05-31.sbd.oleynick.76.shnf

Hope you guys enjoy this great year as much as I do. Once again thanks to Ltapilot (Rick) for the shows. Also, as I posted before, please do not have more than one of these vines in your possession at one time.

Looking for 1991 Compendium Picks Part 2 (if it exists). I want to sign up for it. Is there an easy way to search for vines?? Thanks!

it also turns up no such vine, so I think it does not exist. However, I'd recommend checking the Vindex topic, which cosmicbadger periodically updates; it's a chronological listing of the vines, so you can see at a glance what exists for 1991. It may be that this particular Compendium is a work in progress. Or it may be that there's a typo in its name that's keeping it from coming up in searches, and some helpful soul will set us on the right path again.

I don't think it exists yet ... dstache would know =) "It's got no signs or dividing line and very few rules to guide"

It has not been posted yet but will be in a couple of weeks. With those big 1969 vines, I was worried this one would get lost in the shuffle.

I'm offering up this nice 1 DVD video. It showcases the Dead playing over in France at the Chateau D'HerouvilIe. It's the only show they played that June and appears to be the second time they played in Europe. They ventured there for two shows at the end of May in 1970. The video footage is great with some nice Pigpen shots. The first half is in color and the last half is in black and white. Jerry is interviewed by a French journalist throughout. The setlist for the video: (Some are not full songs) Black Peter Hard To Handle Sugar Magnolia Deal Morning Dew Sing Me Back Home China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider Runtime: 40:19 Video: Proshot Audio: SBD NTSC conversion files consist of IFO and VOB.
