Many thanks to all involved, and vine on! -- Dead.Net Vines - What It Is & How It Works (We're changing some things for 2009) BACKGROUND: The concept of a "vine" is music sharing through conventional means (e.g. mailing cd's or dvd's) with the sign-up list being on-line. The basic idea is that someone starts (seeds) a vine, made up of one or multiple shows, and sends it via mail to the first person who signs up. That person makes a copy for themselves and sends the ORIGINAL media on to the next person on the list. As more people sign up, it continues to grow and grow - hence the name "vine". MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Make sure you can deal with the media format. Many vines are in audio CD format, so the minimum basic requirement is that you are knowledgeable and capable of copying audio CD's. Other vines are in D

This is a single flac DVD that will unbundle to 13 CDs. I just got these in the mail and it is easier to burn multiple discs than it is to go back later and re-rip, so here is another 'stache vine. Caveat: I haven't listened to those shows yet so I cant' really vouch for them, but I am sure that most are at least good and that there is a gem or two in here. I looked through the Vindex and omitted the shows that were listed, and I apologize if I include anything that wasn't listed but has been vined. There will be 11 shows in SHN/FLAC format on 3 DVD's. Here are 8 shows given to me by our fine friend RaymondMBrown. Thanks for the shows Ray! I've listened to the first 4 shows. 3/20, 3/27 and 3/31 are Very Good shows, and, I almost can't believe I am going to say this about a 90's show, 4/1 is a GREAT show! Although the setlist isn't that important a part of my grading system, you have to like when the WORST Jerry song on paper is Black Peter. On 4/1 we get a Bird Song, China > Rider, Dark Star, and Baby Blue, not to mention Peggy O and Candyman. Thank you, Jerry! Hey now! So this vine will finish off the shows that were recommended by the Compendium as the best of 1992 (thanks to dstache!). This will be 3 dvds of shn/flac. Since I don't like sending out discs that are NOT chock full of music =) I wanted to fill up disc 3 so I added the Garcia/Grisman shows from May 1992 at the Warfield. Now these are aud recordings and all but 1 were taped by an unkown taper in an unkown location using unknown equipment but wow from the parts I have listened to they are good quality and the shows themselves are, well, f-ing awesome! =) 5/8 was vined by That Nice Hippy Guy but I will include it here also, might as well! 1993 (and 94) Compendium Picks are still under construction..... Jimmy you have to wait til marye posts a new vine. All those names are from the Early 69 Part 1 Vine that was going to be reseeded but I was fortunate enough to get shows to add to it and killing that vine basically. Hell it was inactive since 2009.So please follow procedure here in the vineyard and wait til a vine has its own thread before you sign on it. Thanks Jake

I'm starting the 1972 right now, but so this other one is a reseed of an old one plus new stuff so I should also take the Early 69 Part 1 out of the Vineyard?

Looking for 1991 Compendium Picks Part 2 (if it exists). I want to sign up for it. Is there an easy way to search for vines?? Thanks!

it also turns up no such vine, so I think it does not exist. However, I'd recommend checking the Vindex topic, which cosmicbadger periodically updates; it's a chronological listing of the vines, so you can see at a glance what exists for 1991. It may be that this particular Compendium is a work in progress. Or it may be that there's a typo in its name that's keeping it from coming up in searches, and some helpful soul will set us on the right path again.

I'm offering up this nice 1 DVD video. It showcases the Dead playing over in France at the Chateau D'HerouvilIe. It's the only show they played that June and appears to be the second time they played in Europe. They ventured there for two shows at the end of May in 1970. The video footage is great with some nice Pigpen shots. The first half is in color and the last half is in black and white. Jerry is interviewed by a French journalist throughout. The setlist for the video: (Some are not full songs) Black Peter Hard To Handle Sugar Magnolia Deal Morning Dew Sing Me Back Home China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider Runtime: 40:19 Video: Proshot Audio: SBD NTSC conversion files consist of IFO and VOB.
