    Hey Y'all! Not sure if this is "against the rules" here in "official" tape trading land, but I am going for it anyways. I have about 50 DAT tapes (mostly SBD's - each tape is either a "whole show" or 2 sets from different shows or some combination of both) ranging from 1966 to 1995 and mostly 198?'s and 199?'s. So, this is A LOT of great music (probably about 80 hours worth). I still listen to the magic of "the boy's" but simply do not have the time or the drive to do anything with these DAT's and would love to see them continue to circulate. These are DAT's that came through some "close to home" channels when I lived in Northern Cali! Here is my offer.... I am looking for someone who actually has a functional well maintained DAT machine who will take these tapes and make it their duty to make them into digital files / CD's to spread throughout the land. In return, I would simply like to receive a CD copy of certain select shows as you do them over time. I realize that this is quite a commitment for someone and that it would have to be someone who is good at following through with a project like this. One way of looking at it is, with 50 tapes, you could treat yourself to 1 new DEAD DAT dessert a week for almost a whole year! It would simply take downloading the show to HD and then burning some CD's. Let's get creative and work out the details! Please email me directly at Antonio@SoundingSpirit.com to respond.     does anyone out there have the recording of The Dead at Blossom Music Center in Ohio July 2004 Wave That Flag summer tour. I forget the exact day sorry.     and as to that bad Bertha disc, email the particulars to josh dot leopard at iventa dot com, and he should get things straightened out pretty fast. Though last I heard they were still waiting for the replacement discs. Let's just say you're not alone on that one. As for the ins and outs of the taper scene, archive, etc., I try to stay out of it. Here we're just muddling along trying to do what works for everyone, and while there are definitely rough spots it mostly works!

    Hello, Marye didnt mean any offence to the people making the money, perhaps the highwhig comment was a little bit offensive! sorry, if you were offended by my lingo, its theres to make money with, and thats fine, its the bands and the managements hardwork, i was refering to sites like internet archives, i herd that they used to let people trade the soundboard tapes and all, and then they took some of the live taped shows off recently ,someone made a comment about Phil being responsible for putting some of it back on, but im sure not about all of it! its changed alot in the last few years now that live shows are sold for a dollar a song,with all the mp3 podcasting and all, i understand it if they feel they have lost millions, they probably have, but there was a strong statement made if i remember correctly that it was ok to tape and trade for non profit and as long as they werent commercially released, and im glad thats the way it still is!! i hope it stays that way as long as it can!!i would like to get some recordings of whole shows for myself to listen to and trade,Marye, i know you work alot with the customer service from your posts, i did shell out the $100.00 for the Winterland 73' box set and im very happy to have it, it sounds great, they did alot of nice work with it,its somthing to hear how great the band sounded at that set of shows! im sure that most fans would love pay to have them do that mastering work on other live music box set,i will be in line, it sounds to good to pass up! 2 track or not, it sounds better than most any recording of any live or studio,music ive herd its so stereophonic,if thats the correct term, but my disc 2 "track" "Bertha" pops and cracks,like it has a defect, there was glue all over most of the disc like they were put in the box's before it dried, and i did get most of it off easily with no damage, i would like to get my disc 2 replaced, i cant seem to get ahold of anyone though, well, like i said Marye, i wanst calling anyone out to hurt feelings, i was in the wrong,, i take it back if i did offend,, i just want to see the live recordings made by the fans stay free traded, hopefully it will, as for being a Locomotive Engineer its a great job, i had to give up alot of things i loved for it,, lifestyle wise, you can probably imagine, to be safe for all,, i have somewhat of an understanding with the Wharf Rats,,, you do see alot of nice things on the rails, sunrises, sunsets, you experiance alot of things that can be pretty sad also! its life!! and Death!! for everything! hopefully it balances out! i love to listen to my Grateful Dead on the ipod 160gig on the 200mi 12hr trips, well hope i set everything ok again! i dont mind being called out!! i was in the wrong!!, hope were ok! im a big mouth bass sometimes. talk to you later, thanks for the advice!

I had an amazing guy from a Dead Facebook group recently gift me many JGB cd’s that were all from tapers and I am OBSESSED with the sound. I mean I’ve been listening to the Dead since I was a little kid but to hear the rawness of this sound just takes it to another level! When they kick into a song and the crowd erupts I can close my eyes and picture myself standing there in person. I’m sure many of you know what I’m talking about and it’s a bit embarrassing I’m so late to the game. If anyone has ANY old tapes I would be happy to work something out. I'm looking for fancy, hand drawn or early computer Grateful Dead graphics J-cards (tape covers) for this show. If you have what I'm looking for and you don't want to part with these J-cards would it be possible to take good pictures and send them to me or flat bed scan them and email them to me. Or can you recommend a computer program for cassette tape covers, or send a copy to me? The ones I have are very plain, printed ones with no graphics or color at all.

Looking forI followed the Boys in 2009 from Wilkes Barre to Denver....7 shows in 12 days!! In Hartford, I purchased 2nd row tickets from dead.net through the charity auction. I got a signed tour poster signed by all the members...plus Warren Haynes. It was my most prized possession!!! About 6 months ago, my home was burglarized and 3 things were stolen.....cash, my college class ring, and my Dead poster. I literally weeped. I don't care about the class ring but I am desperate to replace my poster. I'm hoping a FAMILY member can help me out? Maybe you and your partner got two posters? I have gathered some tapes, and I would love the chance to expand my collection. I'm only 25 and I hope to one day pass on whatever tape collection I mange to gather to the next generation of heads who haven't been born yet.

My collection is around 600 tapes at this point, and I want it to keep growing. My girlfriend and I are slowly organizing and cataloging the tapes we have. I have many head friends in the area that I share with as well.
If anyone still has their collection of dead tapes that they would like to add to this collection, which I hope will continue to be passed from older heads to younger, please hit me up.

The aesthetic of the tapes and the connection to the band and older generations of heads is very special. I would really love to preserve this feeling and connection for myself, my family, my friends, and for all the many heads who have yet to be born or converted yet.

I will cover the shipping cost. Just email and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

about 30 years ago, I had a cassette with, among other things, a demo of Throwing Stones. It was just Bobby singing and playing a clean sounding electric guitar. I no longer have that cassette. Does anyone know where I can find a cd or mp3 of it?

I'm also trying to get some tapes. I know that every show ever is on archive online and on the app, but I love tapes.
I have an old truck with a tape deck, and recently acquired a decent tape deck and receiver to enjoy the tapes to the fullest.

These tapes will be enjoyed by a total of 11 deadheads ranging in age from 19-27.

Please help out a generation of young heads stuck in west Texas. Very little dead love in these parts.

I am curious about this and am sure it exists in written form somewhere, I just can't seem to find it. What is the official policy for trading in shows that have been officially released? Specifically, I am wondering about the ones that were released officially but are out of print. Seems to me that if they are not for sale currently, we would not be costing the band money by trading those shows. Just curious what the official policy is on this.

I have two full cases of Dead bootlegs all of good to very good quality, for cassette tapes. Were you still looking for tapes?

During my tape trading days I made tape cover art for almost all of my 600 tapes. This activity was --and still is -- a big part of my life journey; my identity. I would NEVER throw away my tapes!

Anybody have any recommendations on software for converting Flac, Shn, etc... files and then burn them DAO (disc at once)? I used EAC, Feurio, CDwave, on a PC before I converted to a Mac.

Years ago, one of the bootlegs I had, had a guy very distinctly saying, "Hey eh, this is great eh?" during a low music point. I'd love to hear that show again. Anyone have this? My guess is that it would be an 80's show.

My tape covers found direction around some corner where it was waiting to meet them.

Recently was given a couple boxes of dead tapes from a guy who went to shows from 70-90...I don’t think I have interest in converting them and am curious to see if anyone has/willing to pass along some tapes from years I am missing?
I would love to get anything from the 60’s (Warlocks included)
70, 72, 83, 86, 87, 88, 92, 93, 94.

If anyone has any info on where I could get them that would be great. I know I can get them off line but it’s definitely not the same. Thanks in advance for any input!

I am looking for tapes or digital recordings of the 6/5 & 6/6 1982 acoustic shows with Jerry and John Kahn from the South Eugene High School gym.

I was a sophomore at the University of Oregon with my (now) wife. We have great memories of the shows and would like to relive them. There are recordings of the shows on YouTube, but decent digital or tape recordings would be really nice.
