You're back in Terrapin for good or ill again
For good
or
ill again
On it's way....
….. so "THEY" say. At least I got a link for the digital.
Okay, I'm lazy and haven't tried to look up, but how much time between the release of the last single and this single back in the day. Over a year? Odd to have repeats in your single releases. You'd think that they had more than enough shit to throw on the "B" side back when these were originally released.
for once.....
….. the digitals made it here before the physical product!
Anyone get their 45 yet?
Where is it?
Received shipping notification for Passenger/Terrapin with tracking number on May 26. More than a week later, USPS status is still USPS awaiting package, nothing on UPS. What's going on?
HAS ANYONE GOTTEN THE NUMBER 14
hard to find tracking info for this
Where is it?
Spoke with a customer service rep today, who said that my single hasn't left the warehouse and that the pandemic has caused problems at the warehouse.
Sounds like that Curb Your Enthusiasm episode: "There's been a disturbance in the kitchen."
Dennis, I have not seen mine yet, either . . .
Kind of forgot about it until I saw your post . . .
Any updates?
Just checking to see if anyone has received their copy.
Dennis, that's funny! (But no single here yet)
I had one of those boxes in the early 70's for my Read-Along book/45s! ("You'll know it's time to turn the page when Tinkerbell waves her magic wand . . . like THIS!" [tinkling sound]) And I also do not own a turntable. I wasn't going to get the 45's series, but then the artwork was too enchanting, so I get them just to look at. But I don't open them. Is there anything on the inside worth opening them for? I figure that my kids might get more money for them after I'm gone if they're unopened, but that's an afterthought, so if I should be opening the 45's to derive more enjoyment, then I will do so.
No single here yet.
Brewman
If nothing else, back in the day (70's), I heard people say you shouldn't store your lp's in the plastic because it shrinks and will warp the record. TRUE? Unknown to me. When they first started coming, I put 45 in paper sleeve (I have quite a few!), then I'd peel the sticker off plastic and put on paper sleeve. AND of course sleeves should be at a 90 degree offset to hole in cardboard so record can't slide out!
One of minor complaint about the 45's, no paper sleeves AND slit in cardboard should be on side, not top. The idea of the album art was you were looking at the art WHILE taking the record out! NOT a sideways picture. I know stupid.
Brew 3
Ok, went thru all of mine to straighten out. Now all in sleeves, no plastic, sticker on sleeve.
Artwork in center if you like (I assume) original style label. 1 has the black crow image in the center, one has the harlequin .
You mentioned books by tinkerbell. in the early 60's the old man got tires put on and the place sold these "books". For whatever reason the guy at the joint give me this "book". Thing had to be 9 inches across, a foot tall and two inches thick, made of plastic! When you opened the lid it had a little book glued to the cover, but on the right was a 8 inch circle with a finger hole on one side. You stuck your finger in and turned it and the book was read to you. Thing had a "45" inside and it spun at the rate of your finger, the only amplification was the plastic box it was in.
wish I still had it!
Dennis, thanks for the information and the story!
Check your PMs,please, friend.
Good to know that I can remove the stickers from the plastic. I hadn't even tried, for fear of tearing the plastic. As mentioned, my 45's are just for display, unopened. Had you told me that there was different artwork inside, then I would set about opening them.
Maybe this is the year.....
That we get the digital download, but will not see the physical product:-)
I don't think the warehouse has sent them out yet. I think the software button has been pushed, the emails sent, the info sent to post office, but shit is still sitting in warehouse. Or, they haven't been cut yet! I solidly assume we'll get them, but as always be nice if a little word was dropped on the boards.
Without Fail!
As soon as you whine a little, bang, it's there!
Out to mailbox today and there's #14 (1159/10,000).
Nice art up close. The fly is a bit creepy and the turtle is 50 sci-fi. (neat eye though) The record is a pretty green this time around.
Oh's and Ah's are now done, record filed!
All bullshit aside, I like these stupid 45's. They're fun, cheap and a nice surprise every 3 months.
Thanks for this concept unknown thinkers.
My single arrived today,…
My single arrived today, exactly three weeks after I received an email telling me that it had been shipped. And a second copy appears to be on the way from the warehouse.
#2017 in Saint Paul, Minnesota . . .
"Shipped" e-mail 5/26; ACTUALLY shipped 6/22. All my other singles are numbered below #1000.
Arrived to a black, curbside, non-shaded mailbox on a hot sunny day (for MN). I had grabbed the mail shortly after seeing the truck every day for a week, but then got distracted the day the single arrived, so it sat in that mailbox oven for an hour or so. Hope it's okay!
