    Bareback Award
I'd like to give the Bareback Award to Southern Tam for her "unbridled" enthusiasm for the upcoming tour. If you don't know what I am talking about, check out the Dead To Tour topic. She almost singlehandedly negated all of the negative vibes. "Let there be songs to fill the air."

Our new friend Morokolli, who said he never got an award before. Think could be our very first Finn here, so he deserves an award anyhow, just for that! ********************************** Don't part with your illusions. Well, I am truly honored....
But those vibes are a reflection of the magnificent spirit of love and family this little magical band from San Francisco has planted on this big blue marble. That spirit shines through the folks here like the golden rays of the sun on a beautiful day at a grateful dead concert in the park.I think the The Golden Spirit Award goes to the many here that make this place a home. In no particular order, Hal, for his wise words, Oroboros, for his teachings and stories, Markinthedark for his sense of humour and his kind investigative work, TigerLily for her beautiful spirit shinging across the grate pond, Gigi, for her the happiness and love she showers over us all, grdaed73 for the life of the party atmosphere he shares here, nobody loves a party, iknowyourider, for the color she brings to the world through her words, Marshun, for the sunflowers, Freeidea, for his beautiful poems, Trevor, for his nice hippy ways, Mr pid for his intellectual spirit, Techgirl for her virtual smile and erickat, Lopezz, sunshinedaydream, ltapilot, birdsong, Tommo, and the many viners for the wonderful seeds they have planted in the garden here at deadnet, and many more. And Marye, for pulling it all together, with a smile, and a little help from jonathon. Thanks for making this world a better place. An honor to share it with you. peace, hope, and dreams, pk

I'm sure mixed emotions are involved, but it's pretty cool just the same!

I thought he looked pretty pleased about the whole affair. Good for him, not bad for a California dude, by way of London, England. So...I ordered his new Live at BBC box from Universal in the UK. Received a shipping notification on 6/14, hasn't arrived yet. CB, how long should I wait before I start getting nervous? No idea what a typical overseas delivery would be, and no tracking info either...

Gratefaldean - in my experience of sending vines, shipping to the US normally takes 10 -14 days so you should get it soon.....hope you do anyway. I have not ordered 'Live at the BBC' yet, but I should do.. Does Thompson live in California now? I had no idea. Anyway he does indeed looks pleased to get some recognition from his home country. Good for him; he is right up there with the best of them..

one suspects this was not on his mind back in the day. Or any other time either. But it's well deserved and it's a treat to see. (And folks, if RT comes to your town and you have not seen him, check him out, and not just because the Queen likes him now!)

Congratulations to Alex Allan on his knighthood. Officially it is for his public service including as the UK Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee. But we know it is for his services as a Deadhead, prioprietor of the Grateful Dead Lyric And Song Finder (www.whitegum.com) and author of sleeve notes for the Europe 72 Set.
