That's fantastic news!!! I hope this is true :) I don't think I've ever made it to my seat at a show anyway, so behind the stage, up top, in the hall all are perfectly fine by me! fingers are crossed!!! ~at least I'm enjoyin' the ride~

I will be traveling East from Denver for 6 shows; Buffalo, Wilkes Barre, Uniondale, MSG, Hartford, and East Rutherford. Any local places to gather before the shows or are people just going to be in the arena parking lots? Would appreciate some local tips! Also, any local campgrounds or local tips where I can "Rest my bones" at the end of the night?

6-03-76 is an awsome show in my opinion, its really mellow and the tempo is slowed down quite a bit. Just thought i would share just in case anybody was looking for a new show.

Listen to the Obama shows and then listen to the late 90's shows. The late 90's grateful dead sounded more like the cover band. No energy, you could def. pick out the shows where jerry was high.

That 1st paragraph of your post is both beautiful, and dead-spirited correct. If had a glass in my hand would toast to you now, for those wise words.********************************** It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine

When I first heard the Dead
When I first heard the Dead were touring again I was overjoyed!! Then when I heard how much tickets were going for, well. . .I kinda felt like that Youtube girl. I understand that EVERYTHING is expensive nowadays, but I didn't expect the Dead to double their ticket prices. Especially not with the economy being in such a horrible state. But with a little over a week to "get over it" I'm grateful to have friends that ordered extras and are willing to put me on a payment plan :) so I can enjoy the shows without worrying about the ticket price. I'm just hoping that if all goes well and there is a summer tour they rethink the ticket prices. Time will tell. I was pleasantly surprised though, reading through the last couple post, to see Splintered Sunlight mention! They are a fantastic cover band that plays every Thursday in Ardmore, PA @ Brownies 23 East and they also frequent New Hope, PA; Reading, PA; S. Jersey & Baltimore, MD. Check them out if you are in the Philly area!! Their cover ranges from $6 - $10 ~at least I'm enjoyin' the ride~

Haven't read all the postings, maybe I'm late to the party, if so please forgive me. However I just discovered that the band will offer $53 seats (behind the stage) if all others sell out. I think this great news from my perspective, being I have 3 people I will be taking and at $100 it would have been a true burden. So hope they sell the others and I can pick up the cheap seats. As long as you’re in, that’s all that matters :) I have watched from behind/above many times in the mid e 80's and had a wonderful time. I'll be at the box office on Saturday hoping and waiting. Peace

probably the Going Furthur topic would be your best bet.
