    Grateful Dead Hour no. 1191

    Week of July 18, 2011

    Grateful Dead 4/2/89 Civic Arena, Pittsburgh PA
    IT'S ALL OVER NOW, BABY BLUE

    Grateful Dead, So Many Roads (1965-1995)
    DAYS BETWEEN

    Jim Lauderdale, Reason and Rhyme
    TIGER & THE MONKEY

    Furthur 6/3/11 Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View CA
    DEAL->
    THE OTHER ONE->
    HELL IN A BUCKET

    Reason and Rhyme is the latest full CD of the Robert Hunter-Jim Lauderdale collaboration, and I'll say again that Hunter, who just turned 70, is doing amazing work these days. As Jim would say, "I don't like this CD. I LOVE it!"

    "Days Between" is one of the last Hunter-Garcia compositions, and to my mind one of the great ones. This one is a studio rehearsal from the 1999 boxed set So Many Roads (1965-1995).

    The first time I heard this Furthur recording, when the band slowed down the ride coming out of "Deal" I thought it sounded like the groove the Grateful Dead jammed on in those monumental performances of "That's It for the Other One" in 1969 - and just as I thought that thought, the band rolled right into "The Other One"! This show is available on CD and via download.

    Every Wednesday, we post a program from the Grateful Dead Hour archives for your enjoyment and enlightenment. You can browse or search the playlists at gdhour.com or on the GD Hour Search page, and let me know what program(s) you'd like to hear by emailing me at gdhour@dead.net.

    Thank you for listening!

Wanted to share this awesome coincidence i found ... here's what to do ... load up the So Many Roads Boxed Set Disc 5 both the Jam into Days Between and also Days Between ... don't start it yet though.. also - go to the following address .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR3dM-GlZK8&feature=related it is some zen relaxation video .. start both at the same time ... it is amazing!!! you can play with the volume sliders on each one ... and they both sound so natural ... i was sliding the volume up and down on the youtube video like they do in the days between song .. after synching the Jam Into Days w/ the youtube video .. .listening to Days Between afterwards is icing on the cake ... good images too in the youtube video .. i've posted this a couple years ago... forgot about ... came back to it the other night ... i was in the 'right state of mind' and it just took it furthur .. had feelings of nirvana .. every deadhead should witness this amazing piece of synchronicity !!! peas
