    Steve Miller
First show in Vegas.. Vegas was designed for Dead shows! Clearly remember awesome thundershows, hearing Fly Like a Eagle in the lot and kickin' my self in the ass for not being inside already! Vegas strip before and after shows was AWESOME... ironically ALL of the little motels/hotels we stayed at during ALL the Dead shows in Vegas are now gone.. sad... Best times at the El Morocco... EPIC.... Awesome Sugar Mag at this show...

    Silve Bowl...OMG...
I remember Steve Miller opening and being under the sprinklers during Wild Mountain Honey as the vitamin A kicked in...let the games begin...Wooo Hoooo...Also rememer Bobby coming outta space with Watchtower and the sky was turning dark and the winds literally began to "Howl"...crazy desert windstorm ensued and the night was still young! Finding the car was a chore and navigating outta there was the test...crazy kidz we were! Back to The Excalibur where the heads over ran the place...Whatta show, Whatta night!!!!

We taped these shows and there was a huge Gumby ballon floating around. It caught a whole bunch of mic stands and suprising enough didnt rip anything down.

Wow. 16 years ago. I remember the dust storm, the clouds, the camping scene in Henderson, the red arabic, and being Stuck Inside of Mobile and crying my soul out during Looks Like Rain..I swear Bobby looked at me as I stood on a beam of light and he screamed "looks like pain..." over and over...but then "The Weight"just blew me away..I still get goosebumps and flashbacks when I hear any version of that song...I still see Jerry during China Doll squinting his eyes and I remember the dread locked couple beside me and the man with the pipe named Chester.....Thanks guys...

This was the first night of the surreal experience of Deadheads on the strip - Blues Travelers played Bally's this night and the next. What a weekend, right up to the cops rollin' up on the sidewalk at midnight Sunday Night and announcing the party was over and it was time to go.

A whole bunch of us went to Bally's after the show and could not get into the Blues Traveler show. We ended up tearing up the lounge just off the main casino where the literal "Lounge Act" really set the place on fire for about an hour or so. There was a wedding party there in full tux and gown regalia, and the twenty or so of them along with about 40-50 heads were all just gigging hard ... dancing on the tables and whatnot. Dave Precheur(sp?), the road manager for Blues Traveler, later reported to us that he had poked his head out during the Traveler show just to get a read on the attitude in the casino, and was like "that lounge is Rockin!" I can't imagine that there will be too many times you will get a crowd like that in the casino in Vegas: "The roof! The roof! The roof is on fire ... we don't need the mother, let the mother f*&^er burn! Burn, Mother F*&^er, BURN!" Ahhhhh ... good times. Vegas and Deer Creek shows really set the standard in the nineties.

Re-reading these posts are so cool in reeling in the years... I had forgot that one of the nights we were in Vegas we went to Bally's to see if we could get into the Travel'r show... I recall getting in and it was real loud so we went out into the casino and danced.... The rest you'll have remind me...
